Andrew's warnings had no effect on Jaime's confidence. He strode down the hall, Jennifer following close behind.

"Okay Jaime, we're alone. What do you want to talk about?" asked Jennifer.

Jaime took a deep breath, and proceeded to do a series of odd gestures and motions.

"I don't get it." said Jennifer, her head tilted in confusion.

Jaime sighed, slightly annoyed. He then pointed to Jennifer, then to himself. He then moved his fingers to make them look like two people were walking. The fingers then walked into a locker.

"You want to walk me into a locker?" asked Jennifer.

Jaime shook his head. His patience shortening. He did more gestures, hoping she would understand.

"Jaime, I really don't understand what you're trying to say."

Jaime's patience had disappeared. Annoyed, he quickly took out his black marker, and wrote in big letters, "WILL YOU GO ON A DATE WITH ME?" across the lockers next to them. Realizing that he'd just wrote on the lockers in permanent marker, he immediately tried to wipe it off, but to no effect.

Jennifer on the other hand, was frozen. She knew this day was coming, just not this early. She didn't like Jaime. She liked Brian. She loved Brian. As much as she hated hurting people's feelings, it had to be done.

"Umm... Jaime?"

Jaime stopped wiping the lockers to look at Jennifer. Jennifer took a deep breath, and spoke.

"You seem like a really nice guy. I really want to be friends with you... but that's all i want to be with you. I'm sorry, but you're just not my type..." said Jennifer sadly. "I really want to stay friends with you thou- Jaime?"

Jaime was standing, still as a statue. His eyes were full of shock. Pure shock. He slowly turned around and stiffly walked away.

"Umm... I'll see you later...?" said Jennifer as she hesitantly walked away, in the opposite direction that Jaime walked.

Jaime, still in a state of shock, walked all the way to the boys bathroom on the second floor. He walked in, and was not very surprised by who he saw there. In the bathroom was Andrew, and it seemed like he was waiting for Jaime.

"So, has your "destiny" been fulfilled?" asked Andrew, smirking.

Jaime glared at Andrew.

"Hey, don't be mad at me. I warned you. You should have listened to me." said Andrew.

Tears formed in Jaime's eyes as he fell to the ground, curled up in a fetal position. Andrew rolled his eyes.

"Dude, pull yourself together! You do realize you're laying on a BATHROOM FLOOR, right? Come on, at least she didn't say something like, "You're just not my type." "

Jaime looked up at Andrew, with eyes full of pain.

"Oh...she did say that...damn. Calm down Jaime. It's not like your chances with her are ruined or anything. She probably needs more time to get to know you. You have to really befriend someone before you go asking them to go on a date." said Andrew, helping Jaime back onto his feet. "I think it's best you skip your first class, sinceyou sit next to her in that class."

Jaime, still crying, made a bunch of sloppy gestures with his arms.

"Sorry bro, but I can't stay with you. If I skip, it'll ruin my perfect attendance record that I've been holding since preschool..." said Andrew in a sympathetic tone. "I'll see you at lunch, okay?"

Jaime nodded his head. And right on time, the school bell rung, signaling the students to head to their first period class.

"Bye Jaime." said Andrew as he left the bathroom.

Jaime resumed in a fetal position, wondering if this was all a dream or not.

The students of Mr.Cooper's first period class entered the classroom, ready to begin class. Jennifer was the last to enter the classroom, and by the look on her face, Jocelyn could tell that was a lot on her mind. Jocelyn watched as Jennifer slowly slouched over to her desk. Strange enough, Jaime's desk was empty.

"Alright, this definitely has something to do with Jaime." thought Jocelyn, starring Jennifer down.

The class began, and Jaime had still not appeared. The time had come for Mr.Cooper to take attendance. He grabbed the sheet of paper and began calling out names of the students in alphabetical order.

"Diana Kelly"

"Here"

"Carl Kerr"

"Here"

"Jaime Kendall"

Nothing.

"Mr. Kendall, I am aware that you cannot speak, but please try to inform me of your presence with a knock on your desk or something." said Mr.Cooper, scanning the room for Jaime, "I guess Mr. Kendall is absent."

Jocelyn was watching Jennifer when Jaime's name was called. She seemed to wince in guilt every time Mr.Cooper said his name.
