Mercy's POV
I woke up and it was still dark outside. Something felt off. I picked up my phone and checked the time. 1:18 am. A sharp pain flooded through my lower back and stomach so I got out of bed and walked around to ease the pain. The past 6 months had flown by and I was now 3 weeks away from getting these two kids out. I grabbed a tea-bag and turned the kettle on.
"Hey baby, are you okay?" Mum asked as she stood at the door.
"Um, I'm getting a sharp pain in my back and just having some tea to settle it down" I told her as the pain came back. Then my pants got wet.
"Darling, you're in labour" She rushed to my side. "Is your bag ready?"
"Yeah" I nodded as I breathed through the contraction.
"I'll get it, you go hop in the car I'll take you to the hospital." Mum ran around and I slowly walked to her car, the contractions were 20 minutes apart but were getting more painful as time flew past.
"I believe my daughter has gone into labour, her water broke 15 minutes ago" Mum called as we entered the hospital. Nurses rushed to my side and one got a wheelchair.
"I need Bray here" I told mum as nurses rushed me to the maternity ward.
"I'll call her" she called out as we rushed away. The nurses put me in a room that was set up for a birth, which was going to be happening anytime soon.
"Okay Brayleigh is on her way, you guys really like to do everything together" Mum said.
She had no idea of the exact activities Bray and I got up to.
"Okay cool."
"Do you know what you're having?" one of the midwives asked.
"No I wanted a surprise" I told her as Maya walked in.
"Hi Mercy how are you?" She smiled.
"I'm okay, I have decided to have nothing... medication wise that is" I told her.
"You're still sticking with that?" She asked nervously,
"Sadly this isn't my first rodeo, I'll be fine."
"But you have twins now."
"The experience wouldn't be the same otherwise" I reasoned as another contraction came on. I took deep breaths.
"Okay darling can I check how dilated you are?" Maya asked when it finished.
"Yes" I half smiled as she stuck her hand up my vagina.
"5 cm they will be here very soon if they keep it up."
"I'm 3 weeks early though" I just realised.
"Most twins come early, as long as they are healthy they should be fine" Maya reassured me. There was a small knock at the door. Mum got to up to check who it was. Bray came back with her.
