At the landing site, Brandon heard footsteps and turned around to see the three with weird looks.

"What's the matter?" He asked.

"We encountered a remnant of the thing I fought all those years ago." Lauryn replied. I... rather, we don't know why it is here. What I did say was vague and obscure... and mysterious."

"Can't believe I'm saying this" Kim started. "but those weapons may be handy after all."

Brandon stood up. "Told you to expect the unexpected." He headed towards the pilot's seat and pulled out some weapons, putting some of them on the ground. "I got permission from Morales to bring these weapons along. These have been safety tested and revised as necessary."

Lauryn goes up to the pile and pulls out a two  handed sword. "My personal favorite, the Eruption Blade. Tipped with ignitable substances, it will burst into flames upon heavy impact or large force."

Kim grabbed a pistol with a unique look. "I've thought this would never be complete. This plasma pistol will only takes one shot to pierce through anything organic: tissue, bones, and wood even."

Aaron grabbed a saber from the lot. "All these exotic weapons then a regular one? What is so special with this sword?"
"Here, I'll show you." Kim handed the pistol to Aaron as he traded the sword. "This is a unique sword. It is very lightweight yet durable, allowing for techniques unlike most others. Do you mind letting me use it? I have been trained in swordsmanship."
"Sure. Besides, I am not efficient with swords. This weapon does feel more manageable."

Brandon put his machete into its sheath and picked up the last weapon on the ground. "My own invention, the Paralyzer pistol. Instead of shooting bullets, it fires miniature bolts of electricity at its target, in a manner similar to a taser. It can even charge up a shot for longer paralysis or even electrocution in higher power. Though it is considered non lethal, it can kill a regular person or anything smaller if used the right way. Now that we geared up, let's head out."

As they walked into the camp, a man ran up to them, falling down in the process. He stood up and screamed "El Asesino Juvenil! It's attacking. Everyone else has fled. Please deter it before it leaves nothing behind." He fled away as a loud growl echoed through the trees. A large, dark wolf-like creature appeared and glared its pupil-less, blood red eyes. It charged forward and opened it gaping maw. Brandon fired into the cavity where the creature stopped further movement not before it toppled onto him. Brandon tried to move but could not under the weight of the beast.
"Get this thing off me!" He yelled as the group grabbed the body. Once they did, it began to move and let out a snarl. It shook wildly and clawed at the standing group. It slashed Brandon once then ran off. Before it disappeared, Kim fired into one of it legs. The blast made contact as it began to walk limply away.

Everyone was unharmed except for Brandon. Four long tears in his chest were present but did not appear to pierce into his inner organs. Aaron let out a whistle to signal any nearby people that the coast was clear. "This man needs medical attention." Two people came from the forest, walked into camp, and returned with a stretcher. They put Brandon on and left for the medical tent.

"He should be fine but it will take a while for him to heal. The rest of us should stay near camp and rest before returning to your adventure." Aaron said. "We can't go until we know if Brandon will recover."
