Chapter 3 - Evil Ex

Recap:

          Walking through the mall, I earned many stares from other people. as usual. Then, I finally arrived at the store I came here for. Hot Topic. When I went in, no one stared or looked at me funny. I looked around, trying to find something cool to buy, when someone tapped my shoulder. I spun around, and I saw him. 

          "Oh no, not you again," I said.

          He smirked at me. "Miss me?" he asked, putting his hands on his hips. I glared at him and turned around. "Wait, Mackenzie, wait," he said when I started to walk away, grabbing my shoulder. 

          I spun around. "What do you want, Daniel?!"

          He lowered his voice and whispered in my ear. "I want you back."

          "No you don't." I walked around him and quickly out of the store. I didn't want to cause a scene in the middle of the mall. 

          Daniel ran around in front of me and put his hands on my shoulders. "Please." He pulled me closer to him. What the heck was he doing?! And in public?? Besides, I knew his intentions. He didn't even want me back. If he did, he wouldn't have done what he did last time. 

          "STOP IT!" I shouted at him, quickly running away. Unfortunately, he ran after me and tackled me to the ground. "Please get off me," I said, struggling to breathe. Now, people were starting to gather. This was the reason why I broke up with Daniel. Being in an abusive relationship was not a fun thing. I felt someone knock him off me and I sat up, looking around for who did it. 

          "She said to get off her," this guy said to Daniel. There was a huge crowd around us, but I hardly noticed them. I only noticed the guy raising his arm to hit Daniel in the face. As much as I hated Danny, I didn't want to see him get punched in the face like I had before.

          "No no no no---" I shouted, running up to stand in between the guy and Danny. That was a big mistake. The guy's fist connected with my face and pain shot through me. There was an audible gasp coming from all the people watching. I guess it was from the fact that he just hit a girl. I fell to the side from the impact and my head bounced onto the ground. Immediately I felt a headache coming on. I slowly raised my hand to my face and cautiously poked my cheek. It throbbed viciously. 

          "Holy crap, are you okay?" the guy asked, bending over me. I just stared at him. "Ah!" he shouted when Danny barreled into him. Great, now they were fighting in the middle of the mall? And I couldn't even do anything. Unless.... I got up quickly, causing my head to pound a little, and walked over to the both of them. Danny turned towards me for a second and that was just enough time to knee him where the sun don't shine. He doubled over and the other guy just stared at me, and I stared back. Because I was staring, I didn't notice Daniel recover and swing his fist towards me. As I fell to the ground again, I was reminded of the many times Danny had done this before. Before I blacked out, I briefly remembered that Samantha encountered her ex in Eerie too. Great. Just great. Then I faded into the darkness.

          When I opened my eyes, I was blinded by a bright light. As my eyes began to adjust, things slowly began to focus. I saw... that I was in a hospital room, with my parents across the room, asleep. I also saw... the guy again?! I stared at him and he stared back.

          "Mackenzie?" he asked. I didn't respond, I just kept staring. I didn't bother with the fact that I'd never told him my name, because he probably talked to my parents and stuff. "If you're wondering... Daniel, I think his name is? Anyways, Daniel got arrested." I still didn't say anything. I stuck my arm out, and he just looked at it for a second. Finally, he grabbed my hand and I whispered, "Thank you."

          "You're welcome," he responded.

Ok yea I know this was short but I just got bored and I'm sorta stuck now so I just put this in there... next chappie will be longer I promise!!
