"Ugh," I moaned. I forgot that there was school today. At least, because I was in the hospital, it was Friday again, so I wouldn't have to go to school tomorrow. I heaved myself out of bed, took a quick shower and threw some clothes on. Grabbing something for breakfast, I sat around, waiting for Olivia to pick my up as usual. Sure enough, at 7:30, she pulled up. I jumped into the car with my backpack. Immediately my head throbbed a little and I made a mental note to be more gentle with my recent injury.
"Good morning!" she chirped.
"Hi." Livy was WAY too much of morning person. We made some small talk on the way to school. I stared out the window while we were at a stop light, and I saw something move in the woods next to the road. Checking to make sure that Livy wasn't watching me, I squinted to see better. The light turned green and we started moving, but I swear I saw a 2 wolves or something, and one of them changed into a human. They were probably from my pack. I wondered who it was. I didn't get a very good glimpse of their faces, but I'm sure I'd find out later. We finally arrived at school a few minutes later, and I got out of the car.
"Bye, Livy. Thanks for the ride, as usual," I told her. I had math first period and she had honors English, so we went our separate ways. I was about 5 minutes early for class, but I sat down anyways and looked around the room. One of the girls from the "popular crowd" detached herself from a blob of people and came over to me.
"Aw, why'd you have to come back?" she commented snidely. She gawked at me. Sheesh, I wasn't that hideous. My makeup was just a little...dark. That's all.
"Because I love annoying you," I retorted. I kinda wish I hadn't said that. I had momentarily forgotten that the teacher wasn't here yet, and that this was some cheerleader girl who didn't exactly play by the rules. I saw a swift movement.
"Never say that to me again unless you want to be socially destroyed!" she snapped at me. My cheek stung and my head throbbed. She probably forgot that I was basically already socially destroyed, so her threat meant nothing to me. Of course I didn't tell her that. I didn't want to get slapped again. Or worse. She skipped back to her crowd of friends and I heard them laugh. Oh well, screw them. I rested my head on my hand with my eyes closed, trying to stop the continuous throbbing.
The rest of the class went by quickly, although that one girl looked at me and whispered to her friends several times. It didn't help that they snickered a lot. After class, I was packing up my books when I heard the "popular girls" talking.
"They're going to make a movie out of Eerie!" some girl said.
"Wow! That's so cool! I hope they use the blonde actress instead of that one brunette girl," said another.
Then the conversation shifted.
"Yea, Samantha's freakin' awesome! I so wish I was a werewolf," someone said.
"Yea! Imagine if there was a werewolf at our school. That would be so cool, and they could be friends with us. Think about it! Friends with a werewolf!" Everyone agreed.
Little did they know.... I rushed to my next class before anyone said anything to me again and went on with the rest of the school day.

After school, I turned into a wolf (in the woods, of course) and carried my backpack in my mouth to the meeting place that Seth/Mason and I had arranged. As I arrived, I saw them there.
