I...killed...him. That was all I could think of now. I could still picture his body laying in the snow while his blood dyed the snow. The forest was dark and had a really depressed feeling within it. I had reached an opening within the forest which had a large sprawling pond and the canopy of trees began to thin out. I sat down upon a rock a stared at my reflection in the ice. Everything I thought about myself was wrong, how I was a good person or how I was so beautiful and so many other lies. I mean look at me, I ran away from my family, my home now I have killed a man out of terror.
This world is a very dark place now,no matter the time or place it shall always be that way.
I sat for hours just thinking about my life how I was hated and disliked, or how I was considered .... different from the others. Time passed and the sun began to set upon the pond. I knew I needed to find shelter soon, for it was all ready to late. I gathered my things and began to leave the area. I took forever to get through the forest and back onto the the main road. The cobblestone road had scattered and faded into the forest. I walked miles until I began to see light shining from a distance. I followed the light and began to walk into a rural area. A massive plantation stood in a vast opening. I walked toward the front of the house and knocked on the front door. A slave to the owners had answered and let me inside. I had to stop walking or else I might freeze to death. I walked inside and was struck by the scent of smoke. I was led into a parlor with a man standing by a massive hearth and a woman nursing a young child beside her chair. The man had turned to me and greeted me. Both the man and the woman had deep southern accents. I knew the must've moved from the south due to the destruction by the war. The man begin to ask me questions about who I was and where I was from due to my accent. Once I told the man where I was from he grew a disgusted look upon his face. He told me that being an English person I should go back to England due to terror of the king many years ago. I knew I needed to leave Now and I couldn't stay here due to this mans racism. I started on my way out but before I stopped and said to them my last words to them. I Said "see you in death" then I left. I began to walk away from the plantation in the snow. The light from behind began to grow brighter and brighter. I turned around to see the plantation on fire. The fire was eating away anything in its path. I could see the young woman and her child being helped climbing out a window on the main floor. I had to leave before the woman would notice me but I had to watch. I hid in the surrounding forest but close enough to the house so I could watch. I saw the house burn. I thought about what I was coming to and who I was starting to become. I started to gag at the scene and began to feel sick. This...was...evil. I began to run along the road heading to the main town but staying on the edge of the forest making sure there was no sight of me. The light from the fire began to fade into the overpowering darkness that filled the area.
