"Yeahhhh!" Naruto stretched his hands up in the air excitedly. "Alright!"
"What are you getting so excited about, Naruto?" Sakura asked, arms crossed over her chest.
"This is the first time I ever left the village! I'm a traveler now, believe it!"
"Naruto?" Sora readjusted the straps of her bookbag."Hmm?"
"We're literally just a few steps out of the gate." She reminded him, gesturing to the Leaf Village, which was still right behind them.
But Naruto wasn't paying her any mind, instead he was looking around and laughing like an idiot. Sora sighed, fidgeting with the strap of her bag. This stupid bag was digging into her shoulders.
"Hey, am I really supposed to entrust my life to this runt? He's a joke!"
Naruto immediately freezes at Tazuna's words and Kakashi chuckles. "He's with me, and I'm a Jonin, so there's no need to worry."
"Hey!" Naruto whirls around pointing an accusing finger at Tazuna. "Never insult a ninja, it's a big mistake! And I'm one of the greatest ninja ever! Someday I'm going to be Hokage, and you'll look up to me! My name's Naruto Uzumaki. Remember it!"
Sora stiffened suddenly, looking around. She could've sworn that for a second there she had felt a presence...She narrowed her eyes, scanning the trees around them, but there was no sign of movement, and the chakra presence was gone.
She stepped closer to Kakashi, who was holding Naruto back from attacking Tazuna. "I told you, you're supposed to protect the client, not attack him."
"Sensei?"
Kakashi looked down at her, releasing Naruto. "Hm? What is it Sora?"
She looked around again. "I thought I...This is going to sound really weird, but for a second there, I thought I felt somebody watching us or something."
Kakashi peered at her curiously. "Did you see anyone?"
"Well no, not exactly but I could swear that I felt somebody there. Like...I don't know how to describe it but I just knew where they were. But then that feeling was gone, so I could be wrong."
He glanced at the trees above, looking around briefly. "It's good that you told me, Sora. Don't worry, if anybody is following us, I'm sure to know."
Not completely satisfied with his answer, but not really knowing what to say, Sora just nodded, falling back behind the group as they walked on to the Land of Waves. She looked around cautiously as Sakura asked Kakashi about the ninja in the Land of Waves.
"The five ancient lands that possess shinobi villages are the lands of Fire, Water, Lightning, Wind and Earth. They each occupy vast territories. Together, they are known as The Five Great Shinobi Nations. The Land of Fire has the Village Hidden in the Leaves. The Land of Water, the Village Hidden in the Mist. The Land of Lightning, the Village Hidden in The Clouds. The Land of Wind, the village Hidden in the Sand. And the Land of Earth, the Village Hidden in the stone
"Only the leaders of these Hidden Villages are permitted the name, Kage, which means Shadow. Hokage, Mizukage, Raikage, Kazekage, Tsuchikage. These are the leaders, the five shadows that reign over thousands of ninja."
Sakura gasps excitedly. "Then Lord Hokage is really important!"
Sora scratched the back of her neck uncertainly. Every time she saw the Hokage, he was only ever reading papers, smoking his pipe or drinking tea. And he was so old she was sure even Naruto could beat him in a one-on-one fight—
