Lou and I sat on one of the steps by the entrance of the Powell Library, with our textbooks and notebooks on our laps.

"I thought you brought me here to study.

"We'll get there." She swats my statement away. "It's only eleven in the morning, after all. You in a hurry for something?"

"Not really, I guess." I shrugged, watching students walk by with backpacks on their shoulders and books on their arms. It still doesn't fail to amaze me how many people go to this school, I'm already on my senior year of college and I'm still in awe of how many people I haven't met yet. "I'm kind of hoping that Dylan pays me a 'surprise' vist."

She furrows her eyebrows at me, her hair following the motion of her head as she turns. "What do you mean by that?"

"What?"

"Do you mean surprise as in- sexy surprise?

I shake my head. "I mean surprise surprise. He asked me last night what I was upto today, which kind of gives the element of surprise away. I wouldn't want to assume, but I just want him to come by."

"Do you guys have a lot of sex?" She asks nonchalantly as she rest her chin on the palm of her hand, gazing off into the distance, probably at the Astrophysics building looking for cute boys. Lou is really into smart and nerdy guys and I don't blame her for it. Her ex studied biochemistry, he was undeniably cute though. Unfortunately, he seemed to have a hard time finding the balance between having a girlfriend and studying such a demanding course, so they agreed to break up.

"What the actual fuck, Lou."

"What?" She raises an eyebrow at me, a smile forming at the side of her dark-red matte lip. "It's a question."

"I swear someone has asked me this before."

She chuckles. "I hear that gay guys do it a lot more often."

I shrug. "I wouldn't know how to compare."

"Then I'll help you."

"No."

"Oh, come on!" She pleads, reaching for my hand. "It's best friend-to-best friend talk. You shouldn't be ashamed to tell me anything. My ex and I were doing it maybe two-to-five times a month."

"A month?!" I asked, my raising my eyebrows as one lifted higher than the other, not being sure I heard her correctly.

She smiles. "Too much or too little?"

"I didn't know a straight guy could hold out that long."

She bursts into laughter, covering her mouth as the creases on her face show. "So you guys do it a lot more, huh?"

I don't answer.

She calms down, once again placing her chin on the palm of her hand.

The morning breeze brushes past against us, sending shivers through my arms as I got goosebumps. It was nearing December, the weather was starting to get colder little by little. A part of me is excited for winter, looking forward to the multiple layers of clothes I'll get to wear, the hot cups of coffee, tea and chocolate that are going to be so good. Not to mention, winter is also cuddle-weather, giving Dylan more reasons to come and visit me more often.

My heart warms at the thought, making me smile as well. Dylan and I sitting together by the glass window in our apartment, with hot mugs on our hands and a blanket over our shoulders. I'd lean in to him, resting my head on his shoulder as he'd kiss my head. We could talk and talk and talk like we usually do, remaining in one place.
