This story takes you back to 1950s/60's. Jess, a unusually small, yet perky and intelligent girl, unfortunately loses her parents at the age of 13. Because of their death, Jess has no choice but to move, to a foreign city to life with her Uncle and cousin, both of which she isn't particularly close with.

Jess, is depressed  because of the death of her parents and the unwanted treatment she receives from her relatives, so Jess, in hopes of lifting her spirit goes exploring one day. Here she finds a house, and in it a boy! Who kinda sorta hates her. But as the story goes on, the two get to learn how to trust each other and develop a friendship, that might even turn to more :)

This book is soooooo good guys. I was really hesitant to read it, but once I started I couldn't stop. This chapters were long and really well written and the story line was incredible. It's really interesting to see some of the things they did back in the 60's and 50's and it really takes you on a cultural journey as well. The romance between Jess and the boy in the woods ( Marty) is so cute because they are both so young.

This book is young love at its brightest
