[A/N: Yeah... I know, I am the worst author in the whole of universe for not updating for 3 months on end... In other words, I was rather much on hiatus... BUT, I have a valid excuse. Cough, Cough. SCHOOL!!!! Well or rather the end of years exam. So, anyway I know I have not been dedicating chapters yet solely because I realised that after reading some model novels (Recently, I tried Romance and it wasn't really comfortable... physically if you know what I mean *Blush like hell*) my chapters is so amateur so that calls for major revamping of my chapters. I just reedited from the start till chapter 2 today and probably some more tmr. So anyways, I will be dedicating again once I have finish with my editing stuff. For the old readers who still came to check this out, I thank you guys for your continuous support. Leave a vote and/or a comment in this chapter, and you will see your name in the shoutouts as a thank you for your support in the next chapter . A chapter will also Dedicated to you as well but that's on a first come first serve basis or else I really cannot keep up hahaha. To new readers, thank you for checking this book out. The above applies to everyone so just in case, When is the next chapter coming out? Probably by next saturday or earlier???]
The darkness of the warm summer night was gnawing at my nerves as I strode down the lanes of Lintong District, Xi'an, Shaanxi province. The streetlights did nothing to ease my sense of abject horror. The cold night breeze stirred up dust and waste paper on the streets. I shivered. Never had I felt such intense and concentrated fear that make me jumpy. Something was wrong. Something is amiss and that something is much more potent than I could handle. The taste of evil lingers in the air and I felt as if I could not even afford to let down my guard for even 1 second. My senses are sharp and they were tingling. My eyes capture every slight movement down to the swaying shadows of the trees, my ears processed every single sound, my skin tingles and on its guard, ready to spring to spell-casting if a threat presents itself. This must be the work of Nyx. Who else can saturate so much fear and darkness within this small town? A slight rustle of cloth reached my ears and I spun around, nerves taunt.
"Nope, not so fast, my lord. Better look before you strike" an old man chided me as he caught my flying arm. I glanced at my hand, surprised at the speed it had reacted on its own accord. "I have been sent to meet you. Now come. Master Zhao is waiting." With surprising speed and grace may I add, he turned round and vanished in a twinkling of an eye that left me gawking in surprise. When I came to my senses, I already saw him leaping from one roof to another, not even bothering to check if I was following. Now how on Earth did he even climb that high in the first place?

I knelt before a young man who was sitting on a modest wooden chair that seems like a throne to me. It was painted red with various carvings of dragons and the arm rest was carved into a spiral shape that resembles the waves of chopping seas from chinese art. The heady smell of burning incense and joss sticks was tickling my nostrils but honestly speaking, I thought the smell was rather tolerable for me. Tendrils of incense smoke wafted in the room, obscuring vision and creating a mysterious veil that seems to separate mortal and the ethereal realm.
"Please do not do that, I am only an elder, my lord." The man said as he rose from his chair and knelt down before me amidst gasps from the audience.
"My lord! That is certainly not befitting of a pri... I mean an elder!" the old man whom guided me here with a flustered expression as though he had almost let something slide past his lips. If that meant anything, the man's expression never did change. Instead, he ignored the old man and gently grab hold of my hand to pull me to my feet at the same time as he rise.
"That will make us equal. Now De Xiang, see to it that our guest here have a proper seat. And you can take off your disguise?" He addressed the old man standing next to him.
