chapter 1

"Alright guys let's do it again," Our coach Robyn told us.

Next thing I knew everyone in guard were groaning. I couldn't help, but laugh. I looked at Robyn and she knew the look.

"Okay never mind let's call it a day," Robyn told us.

"YES," Avery yelled as she ran in the band room.

Just time for everyone else in band was going inside from sectionals. I even got to spot our friend Rece, Peyton, and Eric waiting outside. Since we were all going to the park.

"Alright you guys ready," Riley asked us?

We nodded. Melinda held my arm as we all walked and laugh to the park. I could hear Avery and Riley singing Alexander Hamilton in front of us with Peyton. While all of us were talking about the show for this year.

We were close to the park. Literally down the street when a sudden white light filled the sky and a rocket surrounded by the same bright white light. Next thing we knew it hit the park.

It shook the ground we were on once it hit. The shaking stopped the second it started. I looked at Melinda and everyone else.

"What was that," Eric asked as he looked at me?

"Come on let's go check it out," I replied as I ran to the park.

When I got there I can feel the energy coming from the rock. I look to see everyone followed. We walked closer to see a giant hole in the ground and at the bottom of that hole is the rock. It was glowing with the white light.

I went down the hole with Jenna, Eric, and Rece behind me. We walked up to the rock.

"Kristine don't," Melinda told me.

"Nothing will happen," I told her and with that I touched it.

A sudden ray of the same white light flew out. It went through me as if it was a harmless gas. I looked at my hands.

"See nothing happened," I said as I look to see Melinda mad.

"Well what should we do now," Eric asked?

"I don't know, should we tell someone about it," I asked him?

"Guys look," I heard Riley say.

"The sky is back to normal," Avery implied.

"And the rock stopped glowing," Peyton added.

"Okay I say we call it a day," Rece implied.

"I agree," I added.

"Well will see you guys later," Avery said her Rece, Riley and Peyton went one way.

While Eric, Jenna, and Melinda came over to my house. Where we were just watching off my projector. I looked at Melinda who had a curious look on her face. As if she was over thinking something.

"Melinda, stop worrying I promise you nothing bad will happen," I told her.

"But what if that white light does do something," Jenna asked?

"Hey what's the worst it can do is either kill us or do good and turn us into superheros," Eric replied.

"How cool would that be though," I asked?

"That would be super cool," Melinda agreed.

"What powers would you guys want," Jenna asked?

"I know I would totally want telekinesis," Melinda replied.

"Super strength and laser beams," Eric spoke.

"The ability to fight really good and the power to fly," Jenna added.
