2. Say No To This

2.) Taking place during rehearsals for The Public when Anthony accidentally gets jealous of Lin kissing Jasmine since he had the biggest crush on her. Lin finds out about how sad Anthony is and makes Anthony fill in for him during say no to this.

It was a two show day at Hamilton An American Musical. Anthony sat on the stairs as Say No To This played in the background.

"I don't get why you don't just ask her out." Oak said as if he could see the jealously in Anthony's eyes rise.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He huffed like a child, crossing his arms.

"Jasmine." Oaks said simply. Anthony shushed him quickly.

"I told you not to say anything. I don't want things to get awkward between us."

"You ask her out for lunch, open doors for her, practically swoon at her every move. Kid, I'm not the one making things obvious. Just ask her out already."

"I don't know man, what if she doesn't feel the same way?" He asked in a hushed tone.

"Just trust me on this one okay?" Anthony nodded in response.

When the first show came to an end Lin had walked off behind Anthony.

"Great job kid." Lin said patting him on the back.

"Mhmm." Is all Anthony said. Lin stopped him and pulled him away from the crowd.

"You alright?" Lin asked curiously.

"Ya I'm fine." Anthony said glancing over Lin to where Jasmine was. Lin looked in the same direction and a little lightbulb went off.

"I get it now." Is all Lin said.

"Get what?" Anthony asked

"Oh nothing." Lin laughed walking away as if he had some master plan.

Anthony walked to his shared dressing room and changed back into his normal outfit. He then hurried to where Jasmines shared change room was. He knocked on the door before it opened.

"Jasmines not here." Pippa said before he could ask any questions. "Lin's talking to her."

"Lin's what." He said instantly panicking.

"Lin, he's talking to Jasmine. They should be in the common area." She informed him. He nodded before making his way down stairs.

"Ramos, just the guy I wanted to see." Lin said walking towards him.

"I was just telling Jasmine here that I won't be at tonight's show. My son seems to be sick and I need to get home. My only problem is that I don't currently have an understudy so I was thinking you could play the part of Hamilton tonight?" He asked the curly haired boy. He stood there not knowing what to make out of this. Then the sudden realization that he would be kissing Jasmine hit him like a brick. He didn't know if he was nervous or excited.

"Well..I mean. Yeah. I'll do it."

"Great!" Lin said grinning ear to ear. He made an announcement on the PA system and then left.

"You have three hours till the next show, I could help you rehears if you want?" Jasmine offered

"That would be great." Anthony said. The pair walked to the stage and whenever Anthony would forget a line Jasmine was there to help him through it.

It was fifteen minutes until show time and Anthony had never felt more nervous in his life. Jasmine noticed and took both of his hands in hers and looked him straight in the eyes.

"You're gonna do great, don't worry." She reminded him. He took a deep breath and thanked her. She released his hands and everyone took their places.

The first Act was over and Anthony couldn't feel better about himself. Everything had been running smoothly, Andrew was doing a great job filling for Anthony's parts too. The only part Anthony missed was dancing with Jasmine durning Helpless.

"Act two is next." Oak said winking at Anthony.

"How could I forget." He said nerves hitting him all over again.

"I'm just glad I won't be watching you pout about it the whole time."

"I don't pout." Anthony said embarrassed.

"Oh yes you do." Oak laughed.

Intermission ended and they took their places again. The whole time Anthony was on stage he was thinking about Say No To This. Then it was finally time.

Jasmine walked onto the stage as she always did but today felt different.

As soon as Anthony saw her, he swore he felt his heart melt and his knees buckle.

Soon it was just them on the stage and it was becoming real.

Anthony began to sing,"Then her mouth is on mine and I don't say.." and they kissed for the first time ever. Jasmine pulled away when she was suppose to and Anthony stood there like a little boy on Christmas he didn't say his line and Jasmine thought he forgot. She mouthed the words to him and then his soul reached his body again and he was able to finish the song.

Jasmine couldn't deny how she felt but didn't want things between the pair to get awkward. When the song ended she hurried off stage.

An hour or so later the show would come to an end and when the lights came up Anthony made direct eye contact with Lin sitting front and centre. What happened to his sick son? Was all Anthony could think. Then he realized what he did.

They all bowed and then exited the stage. Anthony grabbed Jasmines hand gently pulling her aside.

"I like you." He blurred out

"I like you too?" She said confused

"No I mean like, I want to be with you Jas. I've had the biggest crush on you since you walked through the door durning rehearsals." He rambled. Jasmine smiled at the dorky but attractive boy.

"I've liked you for a while too." She admitted.

"Really?" He said shocked.

"Of course." She said blushing a tad, this made Anthony swoon even more. Both of them moved in closer to each other as if their brains worked in unison. Then they shared their second kiss.

"Jasmine Cephas Jones, would you do me the honour of being my girlfriend?" He asked all smiley.

"I'd be more than honoured too." She said smiling equally as big.

"FINALLY!" Oak and Lin yelled at the same time. Everyone ran in behind them.

"You own me ten dollars." Pippa said facing Renee.

"Couldn't of done this a week earlier." Renee huffed.

"Sorry." Anthony said laughing.

"I have some more news for you all." Lin announced. Everyone was eagerly listening when he said the words that would change all of their lives,"We're moving to Broadway!" Everyone roared.

This day couldn't get any better.
