12.) Au where Jasmine and Anthony are both struggling actors and singers working on small things to get by. Oh, they're also neighbors. One night Jasmine left her window open while she was cooking dinner and she starts singing the girls line in a love song..Anthony who is walking by her window begins to sing the guys lines. That's how they met.
•So I kinda changed this because the only song I could think of was Take the World and I don't wanna be basic. So this is my spin on it.
Song: I'd Rather Be Blind by. Etta James.
-----Jasmine had spent the last three hours of her life practicing for an audition that could change her life. It started to drive her a little mad.
She opened her balcony door and let the cool October breeze set in.
She was a twenty-five year old girl living in a small apartment in Manhattan. She had been auditioning for shows, movies- whatever she could really, but things just weren't going her way.
She knew that if her audition went well tomorrow, then this could be her big break. It was Hamilton, a pure work of genius. She had never heard anything like it. Perhaps that's what made her so nervous about it. It had a real chance at becoming something huge and she just wanted to be apart of that.
She set her phone up to her radio and played Etta James, I'd Rather Be Blind. The young girl couldn't help but sing along to it. It was a classic, one of her favourites.
When the song came to and end she heard someone clapping. She became red in the face when she realized it was her neighbour. She knew his name was Anthony but that was about it.
"Sorry!" She called out the window.
"Don't be!" He called back. She stepped out onto her balcony and realized he was sitting on his. He was reading a script? Or at least that's what it looked like. It was pretty dark out already and she couldn't really tell.
"You're really good." He said looking over at the girl.
"Thanks." She said shyly.
"Jasmine right?" He asked.
"Yep."
"What show are you in?" He was certain she had to be in something, she was amazing.
"None actually. I have an audition tomorrow but things haven't exactly been coming my way." She admitted.
"Sometimes it's better that way. The last show I was in got cancelled before we even got to show the world what it was capable of." He told her.
"Sorry to hear about that."
"Don't be. It worked out, I'm in rehearsals for a new musical. I don't wanna jinx anything but I think it could become something big." Anthony said looking hopeful.
"Anythings possible in the greatest city in the world." Jasmine said, she didn't even mean to reference Hamilton, but it was all that was going through her head for days. Anthony tilted his head slightly wrapping his mind around what she just said.
"Do you mind me asking what show you're auditioning for?" He asked curiously.
"Uh, Hamilton. They have a spot open for Peggy and Maria so I figured it's worth the shot." She told him. His face lit up. He knew after hearing her that she would get the part. Her voice and looks fit it perfectly.
"You've got that one in the bag." He said truthfully.
"One can only hope."
"You're gonna do fine. Trust me." He said giving her a reassuring look.
"Will do, I should get back to practicing though." She said noticing how it just got darker and darker outside. He nodded and before she was almost gone he gave her one last piece of advice,"Hey, Jasmine."
"Yeah?" She said before entering her apartment.
"Do not throw away your shot."
She smiled and walked back in. That didn't mean much to her yet, but it would very soon.
