"Are you okay sugar?" His voice is calming and sincere. "I'm better now that I hear your voice." I smile a bit and I hear him lightly chuckle. "So... how long has this been going on?"
"Ever since he started drinking... so when I was about seven." I hear a knock from his end of the line. "What's that?" I ask. "I don't know..." his voice trails off as I hear him getting up and answering the door.
The door opens. "Hey baby!" I hear a woman's voice. My heart shatters. "G-gee?" I ask my voice cracking. Damn it I'm gonna cry. "What are you doing here?" His voice is angry.
I repeat myself. "Gee?" I say it a bit louder. "Oh sorry kitten! My ex showed up... I promise I'll call you in a bit." I feel a little better. "Kitten? Who's that?" I hear the woman ask. "Shut up! Okay bye baby!"
"Okay L-love you bye!" I hung up my heart racing. I said I love you...
