*Pinkie Pie*

I woke up to someone banging on my door. "Pinkie Pie! Pinkie! You gotta get up!" it was Rainbow Dash. But I could care less. Last night was rough and all I wanted to do was eat frosting and cuddle with Gummy in bed. But she continued to knock and I groaned. I wiped the crust from my eyes and opened the door.

"It took you forever! And what in Equestria's name happened to you?" She had a shocked look on her face.

"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice groggy.

"Look, there's no time to worry about that. We need to get you down to the ballroom. You never finished the décor." My eyes went wide as the horror struck me. Dash grabbed my hoof and zipped to the ballroom. The rest of the main six, plus Flash and Soarin', were in the ballroom.

"Pinkie you look awful!" Rarity said.

"Really Rarity. Now is not the time to criticize her on how she looks." Apple Jack spat.

Rarity just huffed and took a few steps away from her. Twilight stepped toward me and held out my Gala checklist. "Only half of this stuff is checked off, and Celestia is checking in around noon. That's three hours from now." Twilight told me. I just stood there and blinked. I can't believe I did this. I screwed up this bad. And the fact that the pony I care most dearly about left last night. Tears started to fill my eyes and soon they started to pour out. I've been holding them in, hoping they would stay in till the Gala ended. But I guess not. All my friends crowded around me and gave me a hug. They comforted me until I was calm enough to somewhat think straight. "Just tell us what to do and we'll do it." Fluttershy said and I nodded in agreement.

They had me sit in a chair and yell out directions to them. I put Rarity in charge of decorating the tables and chairs, Twilight and Flash are on catering and music duty, Fluttershy is hanging up the higher decorations, Rainbow Dash and Soarin' were helping A.J. set up the stage and dance floor. It was all coming together, but I'm afraid it wouldn't be soon enough. The food was to arrive at three and DJ Pon 3 would be here closer to five. I kept checking the time, switching to the checklist then to the door. I did this every ten minutes. It kept my mind from thinking of Cheese, but he still lingered.

At eleven-thirty, the Royal Guards opened up the door and in stepped Princess Celestia. She looked around, with her head held high then looked at me. I gave her the warmest smile I could pull off and she gracefully walked over to me. "Pinkie Pie, I can see that you didn't finish setting up yesterday like I had hoped for."

"I'm so sorry Princess Celestia. I got side-tracked. It's hard to plan the most extravagant party and still have to get ready for it personally." My mind thought of Cheese and his goodbye.

The princess stood there and studied me, her face twisting into a ball of concentration. Then a light bulb went off and her eyes lit up. "It wasn't because I sent Cheese Sandwich home, was it?" this spiked her interest.

"Him not being here is making certain task very difficult." I tried to state in the nicest way possible. I figured it would be bad to start yelling at her several hours before the Gala.

She took a step back and said, "Well I see," she looked around one more time before focusing her attention on me again. "This will be done before 5?" she stated more matter-of-factly.

"Yes ma'am."

"I have very high exceptions of you Pinkie Pie," she began to walk out of the room but stopped, "I'll see you at the Gala." She nodded and I just smiled. Once she was gone and the doors closed, I shrunk in my chair. I couldn't believe this was happening. It was my dream come true but at the same time, one of my most dreaded night mares happening.

(Time Skip to an hour before the Gala)

Everything was set for the Gala. All the décor was up and the food was set out and DJ Pon 3 was ready. I stood in the Rarity's bathroom, staring at my reflection in the mirror. There were bags under my eyes and they weren't their usual peppy blue. They were more suppressed, more dull. Rarity knocked on the door, "Pinkie Pie! Are you almost done changing?" Rarity practically sang. Through the mirror, I glanced at the dress hanging on the closet door. It was so pretty, so me, but I couldn't bring myself to put it on.

"Almost." I replied.

"Hurry up darling! I still have to do your hair and makeup!" I heard her walk away, and turned the sink on. The water ran colder than usual and I splashed my face. I looked at myself in the mirror again. Its only one night Pinkie. One night to put on your game face and be happy. This is what Cheese would want, for me to be happy and enjoy this opportunity. Then after, I can go home and sulk.

I walked over to the dress and stepped into it. Once it was on, I was stunned. It was 3 tired. The base was pink and the top tier over my rump was blue, the second was the same pink and the bottom was yellow. It all was made of a sparkly material outlined in a gold fabric. And on my chest rested my cutie mark, holding together the pink fabric. It was very simple but elegant. Rarity came in and held her hooves to her mouth to stop her from squealing to loud. "You look gorgeous Pinkie Pie!"

"Thank you." I smiled at her and admired myself in the mirror. Rarity went into the closet and pulled out a pair of gold sandals that wrapped all the way to the top of my legs. Then she applied some mascara and eyeshadow before straitening my hair and curling the ends. She pulled my bangs back and clipped it with a pin of my cutie mark. "Now for the finishing touch." She smiled and dug out a gold chained necklace with a cupcake charm dangling from it. I grinned and let her put it on. "My master piece is finished!" She stepped away from me to let me admire her work.

All I could say is that I looked gorgeous.

"Well?" Rarity asked.

"I love it! Thank you so much!" I turned around and gave her a hug.

"I figured you would. Now it's time for me to get ready." She said shooing me out.

Maybe tonight won't be so bad. But it would defiantly be better if Cheese were here.

A/N

Sorry I took me so long to update. And sorry it is not a double update. These past to months have been so busy. It's just really hard to write during the school year.

One thing I would like to say though. I'm loosing my interest in My Little Pony. It's not like ho wit was a year or two ago. It's also really hard trying to right this series and make sure they all have certain requirements. So once this book is finished, I'm thinking of discontinuing the series. I do have another book planned that I will publish. But once that is over with, I think I will be done writing on this account.

Please let me know what you think in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed!
