*Third Pony*

Pinkie Pie woke up a bit earlier than usual. It was Tuesday and today she had to start planning. So, the pink mare grabbed her Grand Galloping Gala folder and headed for the café. When she got there, she ordered and chocolate milkshake with a banana-chocolate chip muffin.

She looked over her already planned out Gala and decided it wasn't grand enough. She crumpled the papers and began to re-plan the once planned Gala. Her new color them was a creamy white, a faded dark pink and gold. After that, she had to figure out the menu. She had to have hors d'oeuvres and of course she was going to throw some sweets in there. She began to sketch the ballroom and draw in the décor, tables and dance area. For the band or orchestra, she decided with DJ Pon 3. Who was her go to DJ.

Once she finished planning it, she wrote a letter to DJ and went to go find a table and chair renter place. When she pushed open the door, she was surprised to find Cheese Sandwich placing a rental. "Cheese?" Pinkie called out, still standing in the door way.

He turned around and his face showed surprise with a mix of disappointment. "Pinkie Pie. I wasn't expecting to see you here." He rubbed his neck, looking down at the ground.

"Neither was I." She stepped inside a foot or two, but no closer to Cheese.

"So...What are you doing here?" he asked, trying to make it less awkward.

"I'm planning the Gala." She said flatly. This is something she would be so excited to tell people about. But after Cheese left, she was in no hurry to tell him.

"That's exciting." Disappointment now took over his whole face.

"Yeah." The clerk cleared his throat and Cheese went back to placing his order. Pinkie decided it was best if she just left and came back later. The pink pony, walked outside and started to look for catering businesses she could began to taste test from. She about halfway down the block when Cheese called out her name. "Pinkie!" he yelled and she halted. He caught up and Pinkie turned to face him.

"What do you want Cheese Sandwich?" she said with a hint of anger in her voice.

"I want to apologize."

"Well I am a bit busy." She turned around and began to walk again.

"Pinkie, please! You deserve a better explanation." That got Pinkie's attention.

"Fine. You get one hour." She followed Cheese to some restaurant. They took a seat and ordered drinks.

"I'm sorry I left like that. But if I would've stayed to say goodbye, I wouldn't have left." Cheese began.

"Why couldn't you stay?" Pinkie asked, ticked off.

"Because I haven't fulfilled my dream. My dream of planning the Gala. And I obviously didn't get picked this Gala."

"You can still plan the Gala and live in Ponyville."

"No, no I can't. You see Pinkie. Every time I plan a party, I outdo my last. And I want the Gala to be the last one, to outdo them all. And I can't go around Equestria if I'm tied down to one place. Throwing parties for Ponyville is your thing anyway. And I couldn't take that from you." He smiled and reached for her hoof, but she pulled it away.

"Then what are you doing here, because you aren't planning the Gala." Pinkie was very salty.

"I'm planning my niece's 10th birthday. And she live here. Her birthday is two days before the Gala." He slightly smiled.

"Oh." Pinkie felt a bit bad for being so salty.

"Yeah. I should've known you were going to plan the Gala. And should've told my niece that I would plan her a party after the Gala," Cheese look disappointed, "I didn't want to run into you like this. I hope you can forgive me." He looked a Pinkie with a sad face, hoping to win her back.

"I do. But don't do what you did again. It wasn't fair to me." She crossed her arms.

"Yeah," he rubbed his neck with a guilty look on his face, "That wasn't fair."

"Now, if you will excuse me, I have to plan a Gala." She grabbed her papers and stood up.

"Good luck!" he called after her.

"I won't need it!" she waved to him and headed back to the rental place. She placed her order for the tables and chairs and looked at her list. She was in no mood to taste food now and didn't feel like doing much more. So she headed back to the castle.

(Time Skip to Wednesday)

It was midafternoon and Pinkie finished testing the third catering business food. By far, it was the best. She placed an order for them to make food for the Gala. Next up was going to find a party supplies store. After about an hour of looking, she found the supply store.

She grabbed a basket and began to fill it with supplies. She had balloons, confetti, table cloths and was missing streamers. She went to the streamer section and decided to go with hanging up drapes and ribbons instead. She found the drapes and ribbon and took them up to the cashier.

The paid her bits and was about to walk out when Cheese walked in. "Hiya Pinkie!"

"Hi Cheese!" they smiled at each other. "I have to get going, but we'll talk soon." Pinkie said and Cheese nodded.

She left and headed back to the castle ballroom. She began to wrap ribbon around the pillars and tie bows on them. After that, she hung up drapes around the stage and behind the pillars. She had to get some assistance for that. Ribbons also hung from each pillar, connecting them.

The table and chairs were being delivered tomorrow, so she would decorate them then. But for today, she was done.

The pink mare headed back to her room and ate dinner before getting ready for bed. Just as she was about to crawl into bed, there was a knock at her door. She sighed and walked over to see who it was. She opened the door to find Cheese Sandwich. "What are you doing here?" Pinkie asked, a bit surprised.

"Well Celestia said you were struggling a bit. You know, putting together the Gala on your own. And she wants me to help you. So I'm helping you plan the rest of the Gala." Cheese was a bit afraid of what Pinkie Pie was going to say.

"That's great! I need all the help I can get. There I so much that needs to be done!" she hugged him, causing him to blush.

"I'll see you tomorrow!" Cheese let go and so did Pinkie.

"Night Cheese!" Pinkie closed the door and went to bed with a huge smile on her face.
