I sat quietly working at my desk at the ministry of magic. I was working on getting a man I caught into Azkaban. He's a loon. Then all of a sudden, a flash of light and a crack. That's the last I remember.
I open my eyes and the blindingly white lights of Saint Mungo's make them water. I've been here for going on two weeks now, attempting to recover from the incident. They've told me the loon I caught escaped, and came into my office and hit me with some sort of spell. They say I hit my head on the desk, and that's why most of my memories are gone. I don't believe them. Lots of aurors have lost their memories, but never by hitting their head on some rubbish desk.
A girl named Hermione has been visiting me every day at 1:00 p.m. sharp. She claims to be my wife, but I don't get it. She tells me our love story is a great one, and that we beat the odds. Apparently we've been married for three years now, and yesterday was our anniversary.
Hermione brought me various objects I had gifted to her, and even some she had given to me. Each with an even more complicated triumph of our love story behind it. I slightly remember her from school, but only as the annoying, know-it-all. She proclaims her love to me everyday which worsens my mood, since I cannot say I feel even the slightest amount of love towards her. Today she cried. She yelled at me, and I'll never forget those words.
"Damn it Malfoy! Why can't you just remember!" They run through my head nonstop. Out of all the visits, this is the first time she said it. I've heard I've only been called Malfoy by those who hate or dislike me. I assume that's how she feels.Tomorrow I will go home, but not to Malfoy Manor. To some small, two bedroom apartment in the center of London. I'm worried. What if I can't learn to love her?
Hello! Sorry it's a small chapter! I wanted to get at least a little preview of what's to come out before too long! Please comment your thoughts so I can make changes if necessary. Thank you!
With love,
Lucette
