Completely trusting his Grandfathers advice Nolly sticks his two fingers out pointed at the tree. Pulls back his hand to behind his head, then steps forward with his front foot as he extends his arm out at the tree. He feels the power flow through his body in excellence as a burst of lightning soars out of his skin striking perfectly.
Pummeling the bark right off the tree sending it flying. Now there is a deep powerful burn dug into the tree. He stands still in the position of shooting the blast as he is in awe of what just happened so perfectly. His smile lights up. He reverse engineers what he has just done. He's happy about it and is confident he might be able to reproduce it.
His Grandpa says with a big old smile "Now, how does that make you feel?"
"Really good!" he says with quite the smile "how did you know that would help?"
Grandpa nods as he says "Well, I just figured it would."
He looks at his Grandpa with much respect. Not knowing how, or daring to ask why he knew that grip with his fingers would help his control.
His Grandpa then says "How about we get some breakfast." Nolly follows his Grandpa over to the fire.
The fire feels nice and warm Nolly imagines to himself as he holds his hands out close to the blazing light. He's never felt more relieved from the cold.
You might think shooting bolts of lightning would make him burn up on the inside causing his body to heat to rise, but the most it really did was raise his heartbeat from the excitement. It had no real physical effect to his body though. Almost like he was merely a vessel for this power to travel through.
Being unsure what to do next, he asks "What's cooking on the fire?"
Grandpa says "Just some meat."
"What kind of meat?" he asks with a smile.
"A special kind of meat that will give you strength and energy" his Grandpa says as a final answer.
His Grandpa then gives him the mysterious meat that looked to be in the shade of some kind of giant fish leg. Maybe a foot along. Not knowing what it is, but trusting his Grandpa one hundred percent. He takes a giant bite into it. "It taste kinda like a chicken that's been swimming for too long."
His Grandpa responds nodding his head up and down "that describes it."
"What is it?" he asks in curiosity.
"Guess?" Grandpa says.
"Chicken fish" Nolly tilts his head with a smile.
"Guess again?"
"How about a giant bird thing?"
"Again?"
"Just one big chicken."
"Again?"
"Uh... I'm all out of guesses, just tell me?" Nolly asks.
"Tell you what," his Grandfather starts to negotiate "if you guess it right... I'll give you a present."
"Okay, okay, miniature horse leg, no wait, goat leg... Goat leg with fins as feet." Nolly says ridiculously. :)
"Okay, I'll give you three more tries" his Grandpa says.
"Three more tries, that's it!" he says being surprised by the challenge "okay, I'll get back to you on this one."
"Wise move" his Grandpa encourages his act of patience.
After a few minutes of eating Nolly's curiosity spikes conversation. "Are we going anywhere for fun anytime soon?"
His Grandpa replies "Yea, we are going to the top of one of them mountains soon and we'll be able to go sledding and stuff"
