Emma guided me to an empty room, almost like Miss Peregrine knew I was coming, or she was expecting someone. She told me the basic rules, like what time lights had to be out and what time I should expect to be awoken. She also told me the rule of the time boys and girls had to be separated. I nodded, taking even more information in.

This was all still foreign to me, it was like she was speaking in another language, me understanding only the basics. She shined a smile my way, and left. Left me alone in my new bedroom, the bedroom I would call mine, for, well, forever from my understanding.

I sat on my bed, opening my suitcase, and took the journal off the top of the luggage. I opened it and scribbled a few notes on the first page. I was writing about meeting the head mistress, and the children. I wrote about each one, leading up to my most recent encounter, with, his name, spoken beautifully by Emma, Enoch.

His accent, music to my ears. His features, looked as if they were delicately placed on his face, almost like God hand sculpted it. His hair, a dark color, a brown or black, mixed with his hazel toned irises, he was perfect, in my mind that is.

I then remembered, I made a complete fool out of myself in front of him. I broke some of his jars, clearly they meant a lot to him, right? I figured I should go and apologize the next time I saw him, which I didn't know, would be sooner then I thought.

I heard a soft knock at the door, my eyes snapped to the source of the sound. " Hello, you haven't met me yet, may I come in " an unfamiliar voice spoke.

" Uhm, yeah " I said, slipping my journal under the pillow that laid on the head of the bed, almost as if I had to hide it. It was just a habit, I was used to hiding things.

A boy walked in, his age ranging from fifteen to seventeen, his hair black, eyes, a crystal blue. He smiled at me, " Hi, I'm Jake " he said, his hand going to the  ape of his neck.

I sensed his awkward personality when he first walked in. I smiled, and introduced myself. He smiled back, " What's you're peculiarity? " he asked.

" Um, well " I said, figuring out how I could explain it, " I'm what's called, an empathic healer. "

Jake's eyes lit up, " What's that mean " he asked, his voice filled with curiosity.

I told him, and he nodded, and I took it as he understood the words that came out of my mouth.

" Well, Hayley, it's nice to meet you, but I've actually come and invite you, to properly meet Enoch " he said.

I felt a lump starting for form in my throat, my body wracked with nervousness. " But, I already met him " I explained.

" Emma said it would be good for the two of you, plus, you're new, maybe you could be his friend " he said, talking with his hands, which reminded me of my father.

" I suppose " I said, giving into the idea of meeting him again.

He guided me up another flight of stairs, and took my to a dark room, the only light coming through the crack of the closed curtains. The room was lined with similar jars to the one I made Enoch drop earlier.

I made my way further into his room, he was there, sitting in a chair, his attention fixated on what appeared to be a clay doll, Olive and Emma also in the room. Olive's gloved hands on both of Enoch's shoulders. Emma was standing, arms crossed, all attention on Enoch's fingers.

They noticed our presence, and their heads snapped back, and the first person I made eye contact with, was Enoch.

" Hello " I said, voice small, not wanting to make a fool out of myself, for the second time in an hour.
