hayley's point of view /

A loud bang of the door woke my tired body up. Enoch too shot his eyes open when Jake came in, a look of urgency on his face.

" Jake what's going on " I asked, my anxiety rising.

" Miss Peregrine is gone, she's not in the house, we can't find her around the house, it's like she left the loop " he explained frantically. " We were also worried about you Enoch, but I'm glad you're okay. "

Enoch and I shot out of bed, " What do you mean? You think she disappeared, just left us " Enoch asked Jake.

" I have no idea, but you should see Olive, she's been worried about you the most " he said, motioning his head out of my room. At the mention of her name, my anger started to arise, jealousy started to over take my body.

Enoch looked at me, shot me a sympathetic look, and left.

Maybe he did love her more than me?

" Hayley " Jake said, nudging my arm, shaking me out thought.

" What's going on between you and Enoch " he asked.

I thought about it, and honestly, I had no clue. I didn't know what was going on between us. We're friends, I mean, to him were friends, but to me, I wish we were more, but I had to leave it at friends.

" Just friends " I answered, quickly walking out of the room, not making eye contact with Jake.

He followed, but left my answer at that, but I knew, he didn't believe me.

I made my way downstairs, only the older children up, due to Miss Peregrine not waking up the younger ones.

Emma was pacing, her loud boots clinking as she walked. I then turned my head, and what I saw made my heart drop. Olive was pressed up against Enoch in what looked like the tightest hug possible.

I knew it shouldn't hurt me like that, but it did, it hurt so bad. Jake was behind me, and he felt my body tense up. He put his hand on my shoulder in a comforting manner.

I tried to shake it off the best I could, and so I followed Jake to talk to Emma.

" Emma, did you find anything " Jake asked, putting his hands on her shoulders, facing her to stop her from pacing so loud. I guess he didn't want to wake the children yet.

" Nope, nothing, nothing at all Jake " Emma said, her face evidently tear stained.

" Did you look everywhere " he asked.

" Yes Jake, absolutely everywhere " she explained.

Jake let her shoulders go and pressed his hands to his forehead.

" This isn't good, this really isn't good " he said, his own body starting to pace back and forth in front of Emma and I.

" Jake " Emma said, her eyes going wide.

" What Emma " Jake said, stopping his movements.

" Without Miss Peregrine, who's gonna shoot the hollowgast that killed Victor, who's gonna do reset, what's going to happen " Emma said, just staring into space, listing all the bad things that could happen.
