Together they make a story,

Together they could ruin the world.

And you should believe what I say...because I was there.

Into the Light

When all darkness fails...

****

Imagine yourself in the dark;  alone, scared, and desperate. No light. Just pure agony withering inside of you, eating your soul up like a maggot in an apple. Imagine yourself on your knees, begging for mercy, and crying out for the love of your life. Imagine when all the people you care about are brought to you, only to have their throats cut and their bodies left in front of you but just out of your reach. Imagine yourself going mad and your heart breaking into more pieces than a shattered glass pane.

And after seeing a sign from the Fates, being destined for the greatness of evil, you realize it was the light that brought you so much pain, and with your broken, shattered heart, that is now stained with the mark of the devil, you turn your head in seething rage, realizing, "Now I know the truth, it's the light that needs to be punished..."

PROLOGUE

Larmina looked up to the starry sky, accompanying the full, bright moon. She clutched her arms to her chest and squeezed her eyes tight. "If all the hope in the world was gone, would we still be caught," she turned to her old friend, seeking his advise, "wishing on a star?"

She watched his face as he gazed straight ahead, taking in the view from atop of the hill. He tilted his head ever so slightly, as to consider her question. "Of course not, my dear." He turned to Larmina and stared deeply into her eyes, attacking her soul. He finished in a low voice, "Hope isn't always in the form of a star."

On the inside Larmina shivered, "How will one be so sure when all hope is lost?"

"You can't be," her friend turned back to the view that was at that very moment, absolutely "interesting." "You just have to trust."

Larmina sighed inwardly, remembering not to stir the emotions of this strange person next to her. She didn't exactly get the answer she was hoping for, instead she got a lesson, one that she already knew, but one that can never be said enough.

She turned back to the "interesting" view in front of her just when he started speaking again, making her almost jump at the sound of his cool, gentle voice. "Hope isn't always a good thing Larmina. Sometimes, it's the total opposite."

She knew what he meant. She knew with every inch of her heartless body what he was trying to say. Lamrina watched as the buildings fell, burning with the fire placed inside of them. She heard the screams of one to many people's souls being crushed beneath the weight that the pieces inflicted. She watched as destruction and chaos took her beloved hime city...and she couldn't be more happier.

Larmina smiled wickedly to no one but her evening shadow and laughed, making even mother nature shake at the sound of the pure evil in her voice. Oh yes, she thought, things are definitely going to get interesting. Goodbye city of mine, crumble in the wrath that Fate inflicted upon those with innocent souls. Aided by yours truly, fall to my feet, begging for mercy, as you did to me. Scream in shear terror and bathe in the deaths that bring me joy. Know that at the end of the day, you won't have anyone to go to, and know that all hope is indeed gone. No one. No one will ever dare step in my path to victory. Not while the sun still shines on this planet. Not even death will attempt to face me. Not even hope.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Hahaha did I surprise you at the end there? If I did, that was my sole intention. Many of you are probably wondering why I did that. For the first time, I wanted to write about someone who isn't quite so pure. Someone who's world has been split into pieces, and who soon turned to the darkness's embrace.

So basically, I want to try something different in the eyes of evil. I like to think I'm a sunshine and rainbow girl so this is most definitely very different. ;)

Hope you like it! Enjoy!
