The Land of Shenia, was a place where the sorcerers and sorceresses live. Occasionally you would stumble upon some wizards...but obviously, the majority of the people were normal. The name Shenia originated from the first princess that was born. She didn't have any parents, but came from the gods herself. And when people saw this little babe sleeping on the steps of the most famous religious temple of the land, that worshiped the deity Lekima, the priests took that as a sign from the gods, naming her Princess Shenia of the Land that had been given to them.
Of course, this was a long time ago and now thousands of years have passed. The advancement never changed though, even with having portals between the lands, the people of Shenia never switched their ways into the modern days. Meaning, a king and queen still rule, and everything is still medieval in its ways.
Larmina walked down the village path, giving the villagers cold stares. She was in a terrible mood, as you already know, and was lashing her frustration out onto the people. The villagers at the end of the land were poor, very rarely do merchants, travelers, or traders come to these parts, so business does not boom like the villages near the castle. The only unique people that come here are those that pass between the lands through a portal. Nevertheless, Larmina glared at anyone who dared to even look at her as she walked past them on the sandy walkways.
A silversmith tipped his hat as she walked by, "G'day to ya Miss." His face was stained with black marks from his work and his cloths were slightly damp from the sweat of pounding stubborn metal and also from the heat the furnaces made the atmosphere into.
She turned and growled at the innocent man, responding very sarcastically, "A very well day indeed, can't you tell?"
The blacksmith stammered, "I—uh, no—I mean yes Miss, I could tell."
She gave him one more cold-hearted stare and continued on.
Quit messing around with the people Mina. she thought to herself, You're on a mission, one you CANNOT fail. Do please, remember that.
She made her way till the end of a path, reaching an intersection where a carriage was standing near a post, waiting for anyone that needed a ride. Larmina walked confidently to the cab driver who was lazily leaning on it and smoking a pipe. The horses that were leading the carriage whinnied in fear at her. She snarled as she passed them, "Shut it you overgrown, lazy beasts." She reached the carriage driver and snapped into his face, "Hey you!" He looked up when he heard her voice.
"Top o' the mornin' to ya. How may I help ya?" He smirked casually, receiving yet another growl. The cab driver stepped back and put his hands up, saying through the pipe in his mouth, "Aye, no need to get all vicious."
She clenched her teeth and said through them, "Take me to Master Morway's manor on Melbeer Maiden Lane."
He chuckled and winked at her, taking the pipe out and blowing into the air beside her. "A good ol' tongue twister ain't it, love?"
"First of all, don't call me love. And second, if you do not take me to Master Morway's manor, it will be the last carriage you serve. No," she stepped close and hissed into his smokey face, "it will be the last breath you take."
He inhaled a breath out of fear and accidentally took in the nasty smoke, and now went into a coughing fit, saying through mid-coughs, "Yes," cough, "right away," cough, "one second."
She didn't wait and went into the carriage herself, shutting the door with a thud as she got in. Larmina heard weight being sat on top of the driver's seat and the whole thing rattled. She cursed under her breath.
Stupid carriage. Stupid Driver. Stupid horse.
Larmina heard the sound of a whip cracking and held onto the sides of the wall when the carriage lurched into motion. The horses trotted and she heard the driver yell some words at the beasts.
