"You're late (Y/N)." Iwaizumi was leaning on a lamp post with his arms crossed. He might have look annoyed or upset by his posture but he wore a small smile and his eyes were happy to see you.
Running up to him you embraced him into a tight hug. He gladly hugged you back and buried his face into your neck. Giggling a bit at his affectionate actions you could feel the breath from his lips coming up to your ear.
"I missed you..." He mumbled slightly.
"It's only been four days since we last saw each other." You could feel his grasp tighten.
"Still...I wanted to see you and hear your voice, not just over calling." Letting go of you he looked into your (e/c) orbs.
Blushing at his words you looked down at the ground timidly. You glanced at his wrist, he wore a white watch. That was the watch you bought for him on his birthday and he deeply cherishes it. He slowly reached out his hand and intertwined his calloused fingers with yours.
"Your hands are soft." Remembering the memory from when you first held hands made you smile. Iwaizumi always liked holding onto your hand and just touching it.
"Shall we get this date started?" You looked up at your loving boyfriend who had a smile and flushed cheeks.
"Yeah let's go." Pecking his cheek he laughed and led you to a restaurant located in a very calm but busy area.
The street was filled with flowers and the trees had been decorated with lights. People walked by with friends or just with their family. The ground was paved with light brown stones and some pebbles had sparkles to them when the lights from the trees shone down on them. The smell of coffee and fresh bread filled the streets.
A vision of the small cafe that Akaashi worked at brought a slight smile to your face. You felt bad back that you rushed out so quickly. You didn't even have his number to call him and apologize. Sighing a bit to yourself iwaizumi glanced at you.
"Are you not excited?" He looked a bit sad.
You quickly shook your head and smiled at him. "No no no! I'm super excited! I'm just a little sad that I wasn't able to say 'bye' to a friend and I just left him hanging."
He nodded his head. "Well next time you can make it up to them, kay?"
As you both reached the restaurant that Iwaizumi made reservations a waiter quickly got you both seated in a very nice side booth. The lights were dimmed and classical music played in the background. A cute vase filled with flowers were placed in the center with two silver candle cups on the side. To be fully honest you were a little nervous. It's been a while since you've both spent time together in a fancy place.
"Your hands are shaking." Realizing that he was still holding onto your hand you tried to steady them.
"It's...just that it's been a while since we did something like this. You're always busy with school, volleyball and working and I'm just a little nervous that i'll mess up our date."
"Even if you do it doesn't matter because I got to spend the day with you."
"So that does mean I'll mess it up! Ugh!" You groaned.
"Ahahaha I'm just kidding love! Don't be so pressured." As he laughed you could see the sides of his eyes wrinkle a bit and his teeth showed.
You loved that smile so much.
The waiter returned and took your orders then disappeared behind the white curtains. You sipped on your cup of water and glanced around the restaurant.
"It's quite busy today isn't it?"
"Yeah. I had to make reservations two weeks early." Iwaizumi leaned in a bit.
"That long?! Haijime you should have told me so you wouldn't have to go through all that!" You frowned.
"They serve (favorite desert) here. And I know the restaurants near your place doesn't. I wanted to surprise you."
You were about to protest but the happiness inside you took over and made you blush.
"Idiot....geez!" He laughed at your remark and soon your food arrived.
Chatting about school and work you both had a lovely dinner. As soon as you began talking you felt more relaxed and soon you forgot why you were nervous in the first place. One thing you really liked about Iwaizumi was that he never broke off eye contact with you when you talked. It made you feel like what you were saying was important even if they were just silly things. He gave all his attention to you and sometimes say small comments which either made you talk more or feel happy.
He was always on your side, even if you were wrong.
Soon enough it was time for desert. Iwaizumi never knew just how you could still have room for desert after a big meal. He still wonders to this day. Your eyes scanned over the desert menu and he swore you were drooling.
Your eyes shined as you kept asking Iwaizumi the same question.
"Should I get this one too? Or this looks good! Nah I want this one! But this one comes with marshmellows!"
Sighing to himself he gently plucked the menu from your hands.
"Let's just stick with (favorite desert)." Pouting a bit like a child he pinched your cheeks.
"If I let you look at the menu any longer you would have eaten it."
"Yeah no kidding.." Surprised at the third voice you and Iwaizumi turned your heads.
Standing in front of you, holding a white note pad, eyes with a bored expression...there was no mistake.
"No way...." You gasped.
"TSUKISHIMA KEI?!" You stood up so fast from your seat the chair fell backwards and a few people looked in your direction.
Glaring at you and sighing he turned around. He plastered a fake smile to the other customers.
"Please do not mind. A child is just complaining that they didn't any crayons for their kids menu." A few people snickered and soon went back to what they were doing.
"W-what?!" The tall blonde looked at you and smirked, even iwaizumi was trying not to let himself smile.
"Oh I'm sorry, did you want a bendy straw for your kiddie cup?" He scoffed.
"You made such a scene. I would indeed mistake you for a child instead of an adult." Giving that sly look at you made you only blush in embarrassment.
"I was just surprised! It's been along time! You should know by now how to treat your senpai, kei."
You and Tsukishima went to the same middle school, even though he wasn't the best person to be-friend with that didn't stop you. You soon became close friends with the boy and he too grew fond of you. When he brought home a friend named Yamaguchi you and his older brother Akiteru teased him.
Tsukishima took your order and soon returned with (favorite) desert in hand. Taking a giant bite you quickly smile. Iwaizumi chuckled at your cute expression while sipping on his coffee that he ordered.
"Gah! This is bitter!" He scowled but laughed.
"Oh yeah. We didn't have anymore vanilla but I didn't think it mattered." Tsukishima said bluntly.
You suddenly thought of a sly idea.
"Haijime~" You cooed.
"Hm what-?!" He was cut of with a quick peck on the lips.
"See not so bitter anymore huh?" You giggled.
"Bitter to sweet...how sly of you." He blushed while covering his face.
Tsukishima face palmed.
