Katie's POV

I peered into Jess and Tris talking and hugging while I was walking upstairs to see Con. "Everything ok?" I asked as I looked in

"Perfect, we're going out" They said in unison

"I'm so happy for you"

I walked up to Con's Room where he was lying on his bed, listening to music. I ran in and flung myself on him.

"Hey beautiful" He said kissing me

I rolled up my jumper sleeves afraid to show the new cuts. I just felt so safe with him. I sat on his lap while we kissed.

"Why do these cuts look fresh?" He said looking at my cuts, angrily

"Connor, I'm, I'm so sorry" I said crying as I ran out the door.

"KA-A-ATIE" I heard him scream as I ran down the road

I needed to get away from here. I took out my phone and rang James.

"Katie are you ok? Con's worried sick about you. Please come back"

"James don't tell Con but please can you meet by the swing set by the lake. I need to talk"

"Will I bring Jess?"

"No, I need someone who isn't a girl"

"Ok be there in 10"

He hung up. I stared out at the lake and started skimming stones. Everything was so peaceful and quiet. I stared at my scars. Did they cause all this?

"Katie, is that you" I heard a familiar voice say. It was James

"James" I said running to give him a hug

"Are you ok? Connor's a mess, he's worried sick, come back please"

"James, why did Con look at my scars so angrily?" I said crying away as I showed my scars

"You cut?"

"Yeah when I was depressed about a year ago when Con moved here and when I went to bed alone early last night, I was upset about things and cut

"He's upset because he loves you and you're his best friend. Have you told him why you self-harmed?"

"No because then he's feel guilty" I said as I ran my hands through my messy plait and sobbing my eyes out

"Katie, tell him, Con loves you no matter what. His face lit up when his mum said you were living here.. Katie go back to him and tell him"

"But what if he hates me?"

"If he does, you have me and Brad and Jess and Tris" He said pulling me into a hug. " Now let's get you back"

We walked for about 10 minutes when we finally reached Connor's House. "ready" James Said." I'm here for you"

When I walked in, I saw Connor lying on the couch looking pale and puffy eyes and Jess sitting on Tris' lap crying, holding hands. Brad consoling Con.

"Oh Con, I'm so sorry, if you don't want be to be your girlfriend anymore I understand but please hear me out" I told Con the whole story while holding his hand and hugging him.

"Katie, I forgive you but why didn't you tell me" he said hugging me

"I knew you'd get angry with me. You did that with Jess 3 years ago when she cut" I said looking at Jess, who covered up her arms

"Katie, I'm so sorry please forgive me. Will you be my girlfriend again? I'm sorry for not being supportive but I will be from now on. I love you!" He said kissing me

I nodded and kissed him passionately

"I love you Connor Samuel John Ball"
