"Hey."

I turn from my locker and look at Blue, looking a little ashamed.

I wrap an arm around her, showing that I was glad to see her. "How are you today hon?" I ask timidly, not wanting to press her.

"Oh, you know. Single, not yet ready to mingle." She says shyly, not yet fully to her real self again.

"Oh, you'll get there." I walk to class with Blue's arm around my shoulder in a comfortable position because of her height. "History class, here we come."

After school, like always, Blue and I walk to the coffee house. I order the one thing on the menu that I've never tried before. 'Chocolate and mint frapuchino'. And I already know that I'm going to hate it.

Anything both mint in it, especially chocolate, I can't stand. But I'm trying it, so that counts for something right?

We slide into the booth and I stare at the drink in front of me with disgust.

"I daaare yoooou." Teases Blue, stirring my frapuchino with the straw. "I double dare you. I double dog dare you. I TRIPPLE dog dare you. I-"

"Oh dear lord, would you please shut up?" I ask, throwing my hands up into the air. I take a huge swig from the straw and swallow quickly, trying to stop the taste. I did it just to shut her up, but I would rather her keep talking than have this awful taste in my mouth.

"Iaccchk." I cry. "Blaa, gross." I make a face and shake my head, going across the table and grabbing Blue's bannana, chocolate shake, ignoring her cry of protest. "Phew, never again." I promise to myself.

Blue rolls her eyes and chuckles, taking back her drink. "Well now I know to never let you eat anything with mint."

"Friday. YES!" It's that last day of the week and I can't wait for the weekend. Blue had found out about a party on Sunday from one of the popular kids. And it's perfect that it's on Sunday, since that's the only day I have no work.

By perfect I mean not at all. Since I'm free, Blue will make me go, and I don't like party's.

Blue laughs at me. "Yuuuuuup. I really wish you had more time on the weekends to hang out." She frowns as she spears a meatball onto her spork.

Blue's eyes dart up to something behind me as I hear someone clearing their throat.

I bend backward and look at an upside down stranger behind me.

"Hello?" I ask, still upside down.

The boy shakes his head with amusement and gestures for me to sit upright. I do and turn to face the handsome brown haired boy. He has black eyes rimmed with bold black geek glasses. "May I help you?"

"Well" the boy moves around to the end of the table so I no longer have to twist myself to see him. "I hear that you're the new kid."

"Well" I retort. "you need new sources."

The boy raises his eyebrows before holding out his hand. "I'm Algor. Most popular kid in school."

Wow. I shake his hand. "Luna. New girl por tempore."

"Now." The boy widens his stance and crosses his arms, a challenger pose. "you just said you're not the new girl."

"Well, I've been here since the begging of the school year, so I'm not really new, but I haven't heard of any other new students, so I guess I'm still the newbie." I ramble off like the geeky nerd that I am.

The boy looks at me like I'm crazy, and I guess I am. "Anyway, I wanted to invite you to my party this Friday, so today."

"Uh-huh." I respond.

Algor looks at me expectantly.

"Well you said you wanted to, you never actually did." I explain like its the most obvious thing in the world, and it is, so duh.

Algor smiles and leans down to my level. "Would you like to come to my party this Friday Luna?" He questions clearly.

I shake my head. "I don't do party's. I'm not a social person. Besides, I'm already being forced into another party this weekend." With that I stand up and throw my tray into a garbage can, closely followed by Blue. We head toward the cafeteria exit. When we reach the door I look back to see Algor still standing at our table with his mouth open, before shaking his head and going back to his own table.

"Did you do your homework for Language arts?" Blue asks me, bitting her lip.

I stop in the middle of the empty hallways and spin around so that I'm in front of Blue, looking up at her with my arms crossed. "Jerry Blue Jorge!" I say, using her full name for intensity. "You, two years and one grade my senior, in the same class as me, have not done your English homework? Have I taught you nothing child?" I throw my hands up into the air and roll my eyes.

Blue points a finger at me. "Hey, you are a genius, you cannot use yourself as an example on this shit. I'm just too stupid" She warns, pouting like a little kid.

"Oh Blue, that's hogwash. And don't contradict me when I tell you that you are smart honey." I hit her shoulder lightly and nod my head in the direction of the hallway.

Since Blue can't be silent, she starts talking again. "So how was your lunch?" She asks.

I make a face. "Delectable." I deadpan.
