I relies the safety on the hand gun and aim at the target. Ace starts shooting and I ignore the sound of bullets flying as I fire at the little red circle in the middle of the chest of the mannequin outline on the large sheet of paper.
When my chamber is empty I put down the gun and press the button that brings the sheet of paper closer to me. I grin as I see that all of the holes are in the red area.
"Damn, nice." Ace says from behind me. I look back at him then walk around the little divider wall to look at his own sheet of paper. All the holes are within either the red area or the circle outside of that one. "You're not so bad yourself."
Ace smiles and reloads his gun. "Best out of three."
"You really want to loose three times?" I ask back, looking at him sympathetically.
Ace makes a face at me, sticking out his tongue before he starts shooting again.

"You won't one out of ten dude. Just admit it, I'm a better shot than you." I throw my hands up, turns out that Ace is a sore looser.
"It was just bad luck on my part. Or good luck on yours, or both." He contradicts as we head back to his car.
I shake my head and chuckle at his stubbornness. "Just drive me home."
And he does. This time we listen to the radio in silence, out ears hurting from the loud gunshots and not needing more volume.
Ace drops me off and yells out his window after me as he drives away. "I'll pick you up at eight tomorrow."
I don't even have a chance to say anything before he's gone around the corner in a flash of blue.

Mom shakes me awake the next morning because I had hit my alarm clock too hard the morning before, breaking it. "Morning sweetheart, time to get up."
I cover my face and shake my head. "No, mmmh." I roll over and burry my face in my pillow, trying to fall back asleep.
Mom pulls off my blankets and then attaches my leg. "Up up." She says, pushing me off the bed and onto the floor.
I start laughing and look up at her. "Did you really just push me off of my bed?" My mom smiles and extends her hand down to me to help me up. I take it and heavily pull myself up to my feet. "Urge, I hate you." I mumble with a smile as I stumble toward my bathroom.
"I love you too honey." She tells me as she walks out of my room, closing the door behind her.
Jumping into the shower, I quickly wash myself and dress into my comfiest outfit. The doorbell rings as I run down the stairs. "I'll get it." I yell to mom in the kitchen. "Okay." She yells back.
I open the door and smile at Ace. "Sup Sha?"
"Sup bow?" He asks back.
I grab my car keys for the way back and my jacket as I jog after him to his....motorcycle? I point to it smiling. "Yeeeeees." I run to the motorcycle excitedly and wait for Ace to get on before I slide on behind him, enjoying wrapping my arms around his waist a little bit too much. "Petal to the metal Sha."
Ace looks back at me with a raised eyebrow. "This is a motorcycle, it doesn't have petals."
"Pft, I know that, I was speaking figuratively. Let's go, what are you waiting for?"
With one final smirk Ace starts up the bike and plows forward, skidding out of our driveway, leaving a black tire mark. I tighten my grip around his waist, not expecting that I would need a tighter hold to remain on the bike.
"Wohoooooooo." I yell as we speed down side and main streets. I've never been on a motorcycle before. Why haven't I been on a motorcycle before? It's so fun! Oh, I remember, mom. She was so overprotective, she still is, but I don't really listen all that much anymore so I guess she just lets things go a little easier.
We reach school earlier than usual and the student parking lot is empty as no one wants to come this early. I look from the sports fields (basketball, baseball, tennis, football, etc...) to the playground that had been put here mistakenly when the builders thought this was a middle school. And nobody is complaining that they just left it.
I run toward the playground and climb the miniature rock wall onto the main part and climb the railing to the top floor. "I haven't been on a playground forever." I say excitedly as I swing around and around down the fireman's pole.
Ace looks down on me, having climbed onto the playground himself, and heads toward the spiral slide. "I got the slide." He says triumphantly.
I run the the bottom of the slide and start climbing up. Ace looks surprised when he sees me right in front of him grinning wickedly. What worried me next was the look that he was giving me in return. He had a grin of his own and I began to shake my head as realization struck me. "No no no, don't." I warn before Ace starts laughing and propels himself down the slide right into me.
We tumble down the slide in a lump and fall right off the end into a pile into the grass. I start laughing and try to sit up, not managing because Ace had landed on top of me. "Get off you freaking bowling ball."
"I'm getting off you freaking bowling pin." He retorts as he stands up. He holds down his hand to me and pulls me to my feet.
Not willing to give Ace the satisfaction of winning, I try again. "Bulldozer."
"Bulldozee." He says back, brushing off wood chips from his pants.
That isn't even a thing, what is this-you know what, never mind. "Wrecking ball."
"Wrecked wall." That's actually a good one, damn.
I shove Ace's shoulder and shake my head. I come up with one last insult and throw it at him like he threw himself at me down the slide. "Trump."
