Marshall stands me near the curtain and let's Cake go first. Cake smiles at Marshall and walks in. I look at him with a confused look on my face. "What?" He asks, a smile spreading across his face. I say nothing more and he stands me in front of him. He leans towards my ear and whispers softly in it, "C'mon, bunny." I go red. He takes my hand and leads me inside. I look at the statue of me and I notice Marshall's staring at it as well. He laughs at it, a tone of evilness mixed with it.

"Of course," he snorts. I look at him. "Lets get some punch," I change the subject. He nods and I run to the table full of food. I grab the soup spoon (I think) and scoop some into my cup. I drink while waiting for Marshall. Someone taps on my shoulder and I swing around instantly. "Fionna, you made it!" The lump of gum exclaims. I sigh in relief that it isn't LSP, he doesn't stop talking and he'll probably question about me coming with Marshall or he'll want to dance. He's not that great a dancer.

Gumball looks at something behind me and snarls. I follow his gaze to the thing that isn't a thing but a someone. "Hey Marshall!" I say mixed with excitement. "Hi Marshall," Gumball glares at him. "Hi Gumbutt," Marshall says, the sarcasm of excitement dripping from his mouth. Gumball flashes a fake smile. "May I take her away from your conversation?" Marshall asks, grabbing my hand. Gumball just smiles, being the gentleman he is.

Marshall leads me to the dance floor and I see Cake staring at us from the corner of my eye. Marshall lifts me and stands me on his feet. He floats up and yells, "Music us!" Not fast, but not really slow music comes on and he holds me tighter and closer. Thank god, wouldn't wanna fall. Marshall spins me by my wrist, his hand only lifting me up. And thank god he's extra strong. Did you mention you're scared of heights? Wait, Marshall and you are dancing, that's the only thing you should be thinking about.

I wrap one leg around his torso. What if your underwear's visible? Wait, you have black shorts under this thing. His hand supports me up on my back and I wrap one arm around his neck. I hold myself up so both of our chests meet. I look down worriedly at the ground. His mouth comes right next to my ear and he whispers, "Don't be afraid, even if I do drop you, I have super speed." He pulls away from my ear slowly and he goes to spin me around again. A big fear of heights.....

He pulls me back and supports me with one hand around my back. My grip on his waist tightens as I worry about falling. I look up to him to see him smiling down at me. I take in his features, ebony hair that falls in front of his face, fangs sticking out of his mouth and two bite marks on the side of his neck.

His ears start twitching and I listen as hard as I can. A frown spreads across his face as I try to listen to the murmuring. I try to process what was happening. Well, that is until someone shouts, "Marshall's gone soft!" Marshall growls and bear his fangs. I hug him and hold my head against his chest. "Fionna," he starts. "I-I.." I look up at him, my brain not in it. "Yeah?" I ask, turning red. We hear a yell from below. Looking down, I realize it's Gumbutt. "Hey Marshall, you're on in 3!" He exclaims, gesturing to the stage. He floats down so my feet touch the ground. Oh thank glob!

Marshall walks to the stage and plugs his electric guitar LSP gave him, (looking adoringly at Marshall) into the speaker. Marshall says thank you and plugs in the microphone before clicking it onto the stand. He makes sure everything is ready with the guitar before turning on the microphone.

Marshall taps it, causing a loud echo going throughout the ballroom. He smiles and brings his mouth to it. "I would like to sing a little song tonight," he tells them, strumming a note or two. Marshall sticks his hand out and I accept, being lifted by one hand onto the stage with Marshall. (A/N: This is not my song, I'm just saying it's Marshall's in the story.)

He yells into the microphone, "Hey!" I smile at him before he sings the first verse.

"Scotty doesn't know that Fionna and me do it in my van every Sunday, she tells him she's at church but she doesn't go until she's on her knees and...

Scotty doesn't know, oh!

Scotty doesn't know-oh!

SO DON'T TELL SCOTTY!"

I blush at him. Before I know it, I'm dancing a minutes before the song ends.

"The parking lot, why not?

It's so cool when you're on top.

His front lawn, in the snow.

Laughing so hard, cuz..."

A couple more choruses come and at the end he goes wild. He looks at me and smiles breathlessly. Everyone claps and whistles. I look around the room to see everyone cheering execpt for Gumball. He stands there, his arms crossed and snarling at Marshall. I mentally shrug, not paying attention to Gumbutt. Marshall says one more thank you and pulls out the guitar from the box and leaves the microphone there, still plugged in.

Marshall grabs my hand and leads me outside where a sparkling pool and pink bubblegum trees are. It's so peaceful compared to in there. I look around. "Gumball did it up, didn't he?" I ask, in response I get a nod. His bangs cover his eyes and he pulls them back. Okay Fionna, you're staring... When I notice I'm checking him out, I quickly look away and pull my attention to the pool.

Marshall laughs. "Checking someone out, are we?" He teases. The colour of a red rose stains across my cheeks and I shake my head. "Of course not!" I exclaim. "You're my friend Marshall," I say, making me mentally slap myself. I said I would stop friendzoning people!

Without a reply, Marshall wraps me in a bear hug so my face is squished onto his chest. If it were possible, I'd be sinking in right now. I free my arms and hug him back. Marshall says something and I don't hear in result if the bear hug so I just hug tightly until he lets go. I look up at him, probably redder now. He smiles down at me, a single tear going down his cheek.

It rolls down his face slowly and drops onto his shoes. He sniffs and I wipe a tear that's trying to escape. Wow, I've only seen Marshall like this when his mother stole his fries! Marshall stares at the ground for a solid 15 minutes, a couple tears dropping here and there. I lift his chin to see he's crying really hard, just without making a sound.

"M-Marshall, what's wrong?" I ask, wrapping my arms around his neck. He puts both of his hands on my waist and stares into my eyes. "Fionna, I know you're a human and I'm a vampire like a billion years older than you, but I still wanna say this before I do something stupid to mess this moment up. Fionna, I lo-" His voice gets cut off my the sound of water splashing.

I try to breathe until I realize I'm underwater. Wait, I'm underwater! I open my eyes and turn my head to look down. I seem to have reached the bottom of the pool. Haha, remember when you used to think touching the bottom of the pool meant you drowned? Shut up, Fionna! I need to get to the surface before I blow up.

My lungs burn as I kick and flap my arms around like lunatic to get to the surface. My legs and arms start to ache and my lungs start to fail on me. My eyes flutter shut as I fall peacefully to the bottom. I hear a splash and manage to open my eyes slightly to see someone swimming in my direction. My eyelids go heavy and they fail like my lungs did on me.

I see flashbacks of Cake and I adventuring, me doing lame missions for PG and the most important memories all have Marshall in them. Him laughing, tricking, flirting and everything else Marshall Lee the vampire king does. A picture of Marshall and I kissing at the edge of the pool flashes across my mind. What the hell?! I don't like Marshall that way and he doesn't think of me like that!
