With a jolt and an audible "Pop!" I was zapped back into my time period. A dark chocolate haired man holding my hand tight, he was an enigma wrapped in a black coat. The city corner that we had teleported into was brightly lit by the sun, not a cloud in the sky. I recognized this city, as it was my home. This corner was full of people, yet none seemed to notice our outlandish clothing, disheveled hair, or dazed expressions.
A light breeze ruffled our hair as we walked. Soon my house was within view. He squeezed my hand and I looked up at him. His blue eyes clouded sorrow, as they had been many times already on his never ending lifespan. He had already lost many, and was so broken on the inside, yet tended to see only the beauty in life. He'd taken me home, and I'd known why. He was going to face one of his biggest physical and mental challenges in his life so far, and it was extremely dangerous. I wasn't exactly for the idea of him going, but he had to. He had taken me home so I would be safe. He had to face this alone.
He walked me up the steps of my home, and lightly brought my hand up to his lips and kissed it. Our eyes met for a minute in understanding, before he turned and walked down the steps. He looked back at me before I could admit I was totally and completely smitten with him and I get the blush grow furiously on my cheeks. He winked at me, and with an audible "Pop!" And him and his black coat were gone.

Cliffhangers
Short StoryThis is a book of just the beginnings of stories that I have scribbled down in notebooks, and spare pieces of paper. Most of them will be cliffhangers, and I will not be doing continuations of any of the chapters, so do not ask. You have been warned.
