Awako Kurage had always felt like she was running somewhere. This time though she was running to meet someone. Her thick messy brunette hair flew in every direction it seemed as she ran, her cheeks flushed as she made her way down the school hallway. Easily she weaved her way through the students and to a certain classroom, puffing as she finally reached the door and slid it open.

Immediately she was greeted by a familiar bang of an explosion.

"K-Kaacha-" she started, a bright expression on her face as she stepped into the classroom. Her eyes caught a now destroyed notebook in the hands of the person she was running to. She stopped, her eyes widening as she moved her gaze from him to the two boys beside him and finally to the green-haired boy. He stared back at her, a pleading in his eyes.

Oh no.

Awako had always made sure to stay out of Katsuki Bakugou's way when it came to Midoriya Izuku. She knew better than to get between the two, especially Katsuki's aggressive tendencies towards Izuku. So she did what any sensible person would do. She shut her mouth and watched.

"The best heroes out there, well..." Katsuki began, "They showed signs of greatness even as students."

Awako watched Katsuki make his way to the window of the classroom and toss the notebook out of it. A tiny squeak came from Izuku and Awako almost at the same time. One the boys of his gang turned to look at Awako, slipping his hands in his pockets as he scanned her.

"I'll be the first and only hero from this shitty middle school! The first to win the honor becoming a student at U.A. high." Awako took a step back, her face flushing bright red.

"Oi, Katsuki, Wanko's here," the boy said, turning to the blonde just as he was turning to face Deku again. All eyes turned to Awako except for Deku's. She opened her mouth, ready to say something, anything, to stop the scene from going any farther. Her eyes met with Katsuki's and she nearly felt as if she had exploded, herself. Bringing her hands to her stomach she looked to the side, stepping down. She knew better.

Making his way to Izuku, Katsuki placed his hand on his shoulder, a grin on his face as he said "In other words, don't you dare get into U.A., nerd."

Moving her gaze back to Izuku her heart dropped. The look on his face as Katsuki's gang spat more insults at him made her stomach twist. Why were they acting so mean to him? It never got past petty name calling before. Why was Katsuki so bent on tearing down Izuku?

"You wanna be a hero? I have some advice for ya," Katsuki said, heading towards to the door. "If you think you'll have a quirk in your next life, go take a swan dive off of the roof!"

Awako watched as Izuku's face warped into pure hate. Her palms began to sweat as she gripped the bottom of her skirt.

Oh no.

"Yeah? What?" Katsuki said, his hand beginning to crackle in warning. Izuku simply stood in place, not saying a word. Pushing past Awako, Katsuki said nothing. The two boys did so as well, leaving Awako to look at Izuku. She looked back at the boys as they walked away before looking back to Izuku. Maybe she could salvage the situation?

"Wanko," she heard, her ears twitching to the sound of her nickname. The nickname she hated but liked at the same time.

She turned to look at Katsuki who had been leering at her from down the hallway. She opened her mouth before closing it, looking back at Izuku then to her feet. She knew that look well. "Don't," she could almost hear him say.

She followed behind Katsuki without a word.

"Wow, she really is like a dog," one of the boys whispered to the other with a snicker.
