I'm so excited! After my first shift last week I can finally meet my mate! I don't know when I will but the chance is so much higher now that I have my wolf!
I am one of those weres who has dreamed of they mate since childhood. I know I am only 16 but I know I will love my mate for all eternity.

"It's been too long mother. What if he's dead?" I ask with a quiet sob.
"Awe honey! It will be okay. Some don't find there mates till decades later. It's only been six years honey."
I nod understanding though not liking it. I am 22 and still unmated. The only ones I'm pack like myself are the newly shifted pups. I sigh. As a pack warrior today I have to help escort some of the new pack members from the treaty today. The Alpha took over an old pack that was attacked by rouges. Only thirty or so survived. Most children. Only the old Alpha and Gamma of the pack are the only ones left from command. "I have to go mother."
"Take care honey!"
I wave to her as I take my leave. I soon make it to the gates to report in to my Alpha.
"Sir." I say with a respectful nod. He acknowledges me with his own and makes note. "Alright. I need three guards with the old Alpha. The other six helping the women and children and you ,Taylor, can help the Gamma and his mate." I nod to him again. I didn't know the Gamma was mated. I'm glad his mate survived.
I take the bags I'm giving to the assigned house. I am over powered by a human scent. No wonder we didn't hear about her. She is human. Human mates are not frowned upon but are sometimes rejected. We don't do that here but some other packs do.
A little later as I took all of her bags and set them in there new room. I saw none of the Gammas bags I wait till they arrive. A knock on the door later hauls my thoughts. I am surprised they do not have a key. I fish the one I was given out my pocket. It has two keys on the ring. I guess they forgot. I walk to the door and open it. Head bowed in respect for the Gamma of the former pack.
"Hello. I am warrior Taylor. I am in charge of-"
I am cut off when a scent his my nose. My wolf screams Mate! I am so excited did they bring a warrior with them? I lift my head. A shocking sight. The only to standing there is the Gamma with an irritated look in his eyes and his pregnant human mate who just smiles at me.
I want to cry. By the fact that the Gamma's eyes are blacked over I know. That he is my mate.
"Why?" I cannot stop myself.
"Please move aside." His first words to me. I am to shocked to move. He pushes me a side and I feel the tingles it creates. His back stiffens for a second till he moves away. Taking his human wife up the stairs. I am shocked. All these years waiting for him and he is mated with a human.
I walk out the house quickly shifting to my wolf and running into the forest. Letting out a sorrow filled howl as I go.

Late I realized I can't stay away. I wait outside there house for three days straight. I never shifted back nor did I report to my Alpha. He knows already I'm sure.
On the evening of the fourth day he walk out the house. He goes into the forest and keeps gong. I follow behind him. Once he reaches the clearing he turns around. Looking at me. The look in his eyes is one I don't want to receive.
I shift. "Why?" I ask again. My voice horse from being out of human form too long.
"I wanted to be in control of my own fate."
"And me? What about me?"
"You can find somebody for yourself."
"No I am not like you. I will never find someone for me because you are that someone."
He sighs. "Look Taylor you a wonderful person surely someone will take notice of that."
I start to shake with anger. "No one. No one but you is for me. You throw away the idea of us like trash!"
His eyes snap to mine. My wolf is in control now. "Mate! Only mate! We wait for mate! Mate is with another! Why must we suffer?!"
He looks away at that. "Im sorry. I'm just not attracted to you."
"Wha..?" I see my eyes getting blurry.
"She is all I need. I'm sorry Taylor. I can't love you."
I drop down to the floor with a sob. I hear him walk away.
I'm sorry.
Im just not attracted to you.
I lift my head and let out a sorrow filled howl once again. My mate doesn't want me. I have no reason to go on.
