It took me the whole night to travel to southern Fiore and it looked as if it was almost twelve in the afternoon. "Why did I walk all the way here? Oh yeah, because stupid self didn't want to die in a two hour carriage ride," I whined as I looked around and didn't see a village in sight. "I'm sure this is where the flyer said the town was located," I tapped my chin.
"You, earth Dragon Slayer, you finally came. To think a man like you would fall—a woman!?" I heard a man gasp loudly as I looked up and spotted a man with long, golden brown hair, and pale perfect skin. "I had no idea the earth Dragon Slayer was a woman!"
"Your scent..." I sniffed the air as I could recognize the smell, but I couldn't remember his name. It was on the tip of my tongue, but it wouldn't roll off. "Never mind, but are you the one who sent out the job request?"
"The earth Dragon Slayer is a woman?" The man whispered to himself as I could hear him loud and clear.
"Hey, buddy, I can hear you and yes," I spun in a circle. "I am a woman, now where's the houses that need to be rebuilt? I need to get back to my guild by tomorrow morning, I don't want to worry them if this job takes longer than I hope it would."
"You fool," He laughed at me as a bright, blue flame engulfed his two hands and fired them at me with such force that it was as if they poured out of the palms of his hands. My eyes widened in shock as I instinctively crossed my arms in front of me to shield me from his sudden attack. "You're strong."
"So I'm told," I laughed softly and patted my forearms. "I'm guessing that job was a fake, but why lure me of all people? Cause if you're going to kill me, you need to try a lot harder than that babe."
"I want to make a bet," he cracked his knuckles as I sensed that he wasn't going to make this deal without violence.
"I can tell that this isn't going to end well for one of us," I snickered as my invisible scales spread across my skin as a protective barrier. "Hit me with your best shot." I continued to taunt him and immediately regretted it. This familiar man was incredibly strong, but I had to fight. "Earth Dragon's Roar!" I screeched at the top of my lungs.
"Pitch Black Roar!" He bellowed as our roars canceled each other out and left us at a stare.
"Your eyes," I clenched my hands into fists and gritted my teeth together. "You're Loke, aren't you? Now that I can get a good look at you, I recognize your eye color."
"Sanction," he quickly bolted in front of me and fired his blue flames into my body, I was stunned. My eyes widened in shock that Loke would do this to me, it took me so long to recognize him because of how different he looked. "Pitch Black Hammer!" he punched me square in the stomach as I groaned in pain, falling backwards onto the hard ground.
"Damn it," I cursed as I held my hand out as my staff rose out of the ground and hardened into a strong jade mineral. "What happened to you Loke?" I growled at him as I swung my weapon at him, but he blocked my attack with his forearm. "Silent treatment, eh? I remember when we first met, you wouldn't stop talking. Funny, ain't it?"
"Nothing happened to me," he pushed against my forced as I kicked his gold armor with my right foot facing up, expecting to do some damage; but, instead my ankle cracked and sent a wave of pain to wash over my body. I continued to stay strong, painful tears welded up in my right eye as I bit down on my lip. "Now, about that bet I was talking about earlier."
"Agh," I whimpered softly as it pained me to apply pressure to my right foot. "W-What bet do you need to make?"
"The Celestial Globe," He smiled maniacally as he pushed me back onto the ground. "Why do you think I tricked you specifically? Let's bet that if you lose in this battle, you tell me where the globe is and if you win, I promise not to hurt your friend."
