After about ten minutes, I descended from my tree. I sprinted all the way to the Leary's house. Oh yes, by the way their last name is Leary, something I picked up in the car. The two kids were playing in the backyard with the tall man I had seen in the car. Because of the traumatic experience I had just been through, I rushed up to my room. Shrewsbury abandoned house forest. I typed it quickly into the apple computer they had installed at my desk.
Five results. I clicked on the first one and read the page over. A house being sold near the woods, with our address! It said that it wouldn't sell for a long time because no one wanted it. Wonder why? Maybe because of the haunted creeper house in the woods that houses evil poltergesits and phantoms!
There was nothing else besides the real estate agents name. I double clicked on the purple link writing. A blog came up. It was called: Haunted Real Estate.
Holy crap, I had to meet this lady! As you may be able to tell, I'm the kind of fifteen year old who likes mysteries. Especially when trying NOT to think about...other stuff.
I wrote down the phone number on a sticky note and smashed it onto my desk, reaching for the phone. My fingers desperately dialed the phone number I had just written down. The ring tone reached my ear. RIng. Ring. Click. My eyes widened like a dog when their ears perk up.
"Hello," said a frazzled woman on the other end of the line.
"Hello, this is Gwen...Parks. Is this," I looked down at my piece of paper, "Helena Merzof?"
"Why, yes. It is. Can I help you?"
"Y-you used to be a real estate agent for a place in Britain called Shrewsbury?" I stuttered uncontrolablely.
"Yes. I still live here. I retired a long time ago, I'm sorry."
"No, no, that's good. I need to talk to you about a house you once sold. 527 Golding Street."
Silence.
"Hello? Are you still there?" I began to worry.
"Yes. Are...Are you staying at th-that house?" Her voice was now uneasy and anxious.
"Yes. I just-"
"I need to talk to you. The phone isn't safe. Go to 648 Maple street tomorrow at any time you want. Do not got back into the forest." She hung up.
Great.
