Chapter Three
Belle's POV
It's been three days now since my mum's wedding. Three days since I met Harry and three days since he kissed me.
And I haven't seen him since then.
I don't know what I expected, it's not like he even had my number, or that kiss meant anything anyway, right?
The bell on the shop door dinged, signaling that a customer had walked in. I put down the box of books I was shelving and returned to the front desk, I was the only one working in the book shop right now.
"Hi what can I-Harry?" I was shocked as I looked up to see that the customer was Harry, the very boy I hadn't stopped thinking about since Saturday.
"Hi Belle," Harry's took on a full grin, "Your mum said I might find you here."
"Well welcome to Words Words Words, anything I can help you with?" I tried to contain the flutters in my stomach as his sparkling green eyes swept around the bookstore. Finally his eyes landed back on me.
"Yes actually."
My eyes widened with curiosity as his held my gaze unfailingly.
"There's this awards thing coming up, and uh, well do you uh maybe wanna come with me?" His hand reached up to the back of his neck a his eyes squinted in nervous uncertainty. He was so cute.
But no Belle, no guys remember?
"Harry I'm, I'm not really looking for-"
"As friends?" He blurted out. His face held a look of surprise as if he didn't even know he was going to do that.
"Please, if you don't management is just going to set me up with some snobby golddigger." His eyes softened some new and his bottom lip began to pout.
How could anyone say no to Harry Style pulling a puppy dog face?
"I uh, sure Harry." Harry cracked a wide grin and rocked back and forth on his heels.
"When is it?"
"Well here's the thing..."
"Harry?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"It's at 7."
My eyes bulged as I looked at the clock. It was already three!
"Harry Styles are you telling me I have 4 hours to get ready for a televised awards show with paparazzi and cameras while I am sitting here in yoga pants and a sweatshirt?" He just batted his eyelashes.
"I can't do this! I'm a mess!"
"You look beautiful, now c'mon we need to go get ready." He tugged my hand from across the counter, trying to pull me toward the door.
"Harry wait this is my job, I can't just leave!" he turned back around and pulled an iPhone out of his pocket.
"Hey Lou? Can you come meet us here, Belle is working. Words Words Words. Yep that's the one! Okay bye!" Harry put the phone away and smiled up at me.
"All sorted!" I just shook my head and tried to stifle a laugh. This boy.
"Now let's get to know each other." Harry hopped up on the counter and sat in front of me, crisscross applesauce. His face looked down on me with a smile as he rested his cheeks on his palms.
He was like a little four year old. How in the world was he nineteen?
"I'm not that interesting."
