Chapter 17.

Inside her apartment in front of her television set were pillows and blankets, a table with popcorn and chocolates, champagne was poured into new flutes and strawberries in a bowl next to it. She loved strawberries, almost as much as she loved chocolates. Dim candle light eliminated the room and on the table next to the popcorn was a stack of DvD's. Grace looked in awe at the setting in front of her and her amazement showed on her face. Jake took the blanket she was currying and led her to the pillows and blankets scattered on the floor.
"You can choose a movie and I will just be a minute." Jake said leaving the room. Grace looked through the five movies set aside on the table and decided that she did not mind any of them. Anne must have picked it as it was all in her list of top ten favourite movies. She decided to take the top movie and placed it in the DvD-player.

When Jake returned to the living room he had on a tight white t-shirt that spanned across his muscled chest and broad shoulders and a pair of boxers showing of his toned legs. Although she saw him before in his boxers and without a shirt it still made her blush. "Damn he is sexy." She thought and bit the corner of her lip.
Jake moved closer to Grace and when he stood in front of her he pulled her closer to him resting his forehead on hers, he mirrored her biting his lip and then he softly said: "Not as sexy as the Queen of sexy in front of me."
Grace groaned and pulled away from Jake hiding her face in her hands she said: "I said that out load, ugh." She felt mortified.
Jake took her hands from her face and looked in her eyes. His face was serious and his eyes roamed her face. "Don't hide from me Grace. You don't have to feel ashamed or shy in front of me. Although I love your blush, I want you to be comfortable with me and never shy away." He looked in her eyes and slowly with one hand brushed away a few stray hairs from the side of her face. "You are beautiful." He said kissing her slowly, but passionate. "I love You, Grace." He said barely audible breaking the kiss. Grace looked into his eyes and then she slowly pulled him closer again kissing him with the same passion he kissed her seconds ago, pulling away she said in the same volume: "I love you too."

Jake took a step away from her and she missed his strong arms around her instantly. Before she knew what he was doing he got down on one knee and in a loud and clear voice he asked her: "Grace Hayward, I want to wake up next to you every morning and go to sleep next to you every night, I want to be there for you in good times and in bad. I want to protect you and shelter you from harm, I want to love you and kiss you and hold you every day of my life. The moment I fell asleep next to you seven years ago I knew I would never dream of another woman ever again. You haunted my thoughts every day and in the night I would look for you were ever I went. I had to find you and when I found you in my building inside my brother's apartment I knew I never would be able to let you go. I want you to be the mother of my children and the love of my life from now on till the day I die. I love you and I know it will never change, whatever hardships may lay ahead I want to face it with you. Will you Grace Hayward marry me and love me for the rest of our days?"
The whole time Jake talked Grace stared in his eyes his grey orbs looked like pools of melted silver and she could see the love shine through them. She felt the tears rolling down her cheeks and she could not speak so she did the next best thing she fell to the ground on her knees and took Jake's face in her hands. She kissed him with all the passion she felt the taste of salty tears mixed with the sweet ness of the champagne they drank before they returned home. When they both parted for much needed breath, she looked in his eyes again and spoke the words he wanted to hear the most in the world. "Yes, I will marry you and love you for the rest of my life."
A roar of applause and cheer filled the apartment and when Grace looked up she saw her mother and father, Anne, Jim and the twins in the hallway smiles split their faces apart.
"Oh, hell no!" The two lovebirds groaned in unison. Both of them stunned to see the whole family in the apartment.
