Chapter 2

Bullying

It's first day of high school. I haven't spoke to Matt in a month or two. So I'm hoping that I'll see him today. I arrived to class and see's that Matt is in the right hand corner. I sit next to him but he see's me and turns away. I ask what was wrong. No answer. The bell rung for lunch. Mat is walking home as well. He was walking down my street. He was trying to ignore me it was working. I then that I realise he had moved house.

Matt is ignoring me. I didn't know why. I was walking home and I saw Matt running and crying at the same time. I went home and made some cookies. I made some for Matt and his parents. while I was waiting waiting for the timer to go I went on Facebook and looked on the menu page. I saw pictures of Matt and I with hate comments.

The cookies were done. I put them on a cooling rack. Once they were cool I put some on a plate and placed plastic wrap over them. I walked over to Matt's house and knocked in the door. Matt's dad opened the door.

I asked him " can I come in, I have cookies?".

He replied "yea sure".

I walked in and saw Matt's mum on the couch and he stands up and walks to me.

She says "matt is in his room".

I say "cool".

I give the cookies to Matt's mum. I walk down the hall to matt's room and open it and walk in. Matt looks up at me and looks back down at his lap.

I ask "what's wrong".

There's no reply. I sit down on the bed next to Matt.

I say "I need to know what's wrong, so I can help you".

Matt replys "why would anyone help me!"

I say "because you're my best friend and that's what friends do".

He looks at me and smiles and gives me a hug. We walk out into the living room. Matt's parents are stuffing their faces with cookies.

Matt yells "hope u saved some for us!"

We start laughing for no particular reason. we get a glass of milk and cookies.

I went home and did homework for tomorrow. Matt and I were walking to school. We had the same classes all day.

After school I walked home with Matt. I went up to my room and opened my laptop and saw facebook was open and there was pictures of me and Matt together. Like dating together. I knew Matt he was to shy to ask me out or do anything like that. I quickly ran over to Matt's with my laptop and knocked on the door and I went in. I saw mat and showed him the photo. He smiled. I am going home and I realised that I got a text. I get in the door and then I read it. It says

"will u go out with me". I don't reply.

The next day I walk to school with Matt i get to school.I open my locker and slide something in mats without him noticing. I went to class and sat next to Matt. He thought I was looking suspicious.

Later that week my dad went the the hospital. He went home and was waiting for me and mum to get home to tell the bad news. We got home.

Dad tries to say " I have something to say".

I say "what is it".

Dad looks sad when he said "I've got cancer".

He sits down on the couch.
