Chapter 4

LOSS

It was first year of being a senior . When it happened again. This time it hit me like a lighting bolt in the heart. I was at school and I was hanging with Matt. In class people stopped bullying me. Latter I went home to find that Mum wasn’t there.

I thought to myself “she should be home”.

Mark ran down the hall. I rubbed his head. I went outside to take Mark for a walk. He ran to Matt’s house. He was scratching on the door.

Matt’s dad said “hello Mark”.

He held the door open for me. Mark ran to Matt’s room and jumped on him. I walked to Matt’s room and saw Matt and Mark getting along. I walked in and Matt stood up and gave me a big bear hug. I looked for Mark and he is in the closet on a small dog bed.

I ask “why do u have a dog bed”.

Mat reply’s “because we are getting a dog”.

I say “cool”. I follow Matt into the living area.

Matt’s parents want’s to talk to me. Matt’s Mum say’s

“thank you”.

I say “what for”.

I say “I have to go home”.

I walk home with Mark and mum is still not here. Latter that night a police car pulled up to my house. At that moment I knew something was wrong. They knocked on the door. Matt’s parents saw the police car and walked to our house. I invited the police inside out of the cold.

I asked “do want a tea or coffee”.

They say “sure”.

The door knocked again but it was Matt. I open the door.

I say to Matt “This isn’t the best time”.

The Officer’s walk to the table and we all sit down. They ask me some questions.

The officers ask “where did you see your mother last”. I say

“When I left to go to school”.

They were taking notes. They tried to break to me that she went missing earlier today.

The officers said “we found her car in a car park with her phone on the ground”.

They pulled out Mum’s phone.

The police officers ask “do u know the password”.

I say “yes”.

I unlock the phone and give it to the officers. The officers said “we need to tell you something about your parents!”.

I said “yes”.

The officers said ”your parents were head scientists, In a lab in area 53”.

I said “ what’s area 53”.

One of the officers said “a top secret place that no one knows of”.

Both officers said “you're in danger”.

A officer said “Assassins have assassinated your Mum”.

One of the officers said “you can’t stay here”.

I said “why”.

Both officers said “you're the daughter of two head scientists and if you stay at this house you have a higher chance of getting killed”.

I say “where will I go?”

One of the officers said “who was that Boy that was here a few minutes ago”.

I said “my friend Matt”.

Both officers say “you have to go stay at there house for a few days”.

I say “ok I'll go pack my bag’s”.

I pack all my bags and head towards Matt’s house and the officers watched me enter before leaving. Mark ran into the kitchen. I ask Matt’s Parents if I can stay for a few days. I can, Matt showed me to the guest bedroom…. to be continued!!
