Request: An imagine where all the guys like you, but you end up being with Nate
Guy friends: You can't live with 'em, you can't live without 'em. The way these male specimens are glorified in movies and fictional stories are true to a certain extent; I mean, they're great to chill with and they make for great cock blocks against perverts in public. But what happens when they're the ones pining after you? To be more specific, what do you do when all four of your closest guy friends catch feelings for you?
I've asked myself this question about a thousand times in the past week alone. I was grateful that none of them pushed me to make a choice, but I knew they were all hustling to receive an answer. It's hard when they each had something to love, and it's even harder knowing that I've had feelings for all of them at different times beforehand.
Our hangouts managed to go on without a fight breaking out, thank God, yet I couldn't help but observe each of them to see if one stood out over the rest. To my luck, it seemed to change every five seconds. I wouldn't say that they were pushy about it, but sometimes they were a little too obvious with their hints.
"Y/N, I got you your favorite drink from Starbucks." Johnson would say.
"Let me hold your purse for you! It looks heavy." Gilinsky would offer.
"You get more and more gorgeous each time I see you." Sammy would flirt.
Now Nate was a little different. He was quieter about his feelings for me; we wouldn't have even known if he hadn't gotten high that one time during truth or dare. He laid low and did little things for me like holding the door and brushing my hair out of my face. I wouldn't say anything out loud, but right now, it looked like he was in my favor.
The boys and I were now going out to see a movie – Jurassic World, I believe it was. As we found an aisle with enough open seats, I sat down without hesitation whereas the boys discreetly argued over who would sit next to me.
"I wanna be closer towards the middle, so I can see the screen better." Gilinsky made up an excuse. After five minutes of watching them get up and switch places, I finally sighed and moved towards the aisle seat, so only one person could sit next to me, and I decided that person would be Nate.
"You don't mind, do you?" I questioned, sending a glare of annoyance towards the Jacks and Sammy.
"Nah, you're good, lil' mama." He chuckled. Although I pegged him out to be the one to boast to the others, he just smiled at me and offered some of his popcorn. Gratefully, I threw a few pieces into my mouth as the lights in the theater dimmed.
As the movie began, my eyes glued to the screen while my hand moved back and forth between my mouth and the popcorn. Right off the bat, the movie began with a jump scare – a loud noise scaring me and causing me to instinctively grab onto Nate's hand that was laying on the arm rest. He looked at me with raised eyebrows, and I could just hear his voice in my head going, "You good, cuh'?" I sent him a sheepish smile and slithered my hand back to my lap. I thought the moment had passed with no importance, but after a few minutes, Nate smoothly reached his hand over and grabbed mine again. At first I was going to reject him, but I decided he wasn't doing anything wrong, so I laced our fingers together and smiled to myself.
By the end of the movie, I was cuddled against Nate's side as we finished the popcorn. I don't remember when he lifted the arm rest and pulled me over, but all I know is that the movie was a hell of a lot better that way. When the lights came back on, I sat up and stretched, a smile spreading across my lips as I looked at the boys.
"What'd you think?" I asked while we walked out together.
"Yo, that was sick! ..." The Jacks and Sammy discussed their favorite parts in depth whereas Nate and I lingered a little behind them. I was just thankful that they weren't arguing about how close I was with Nate.
"Did you enjoy the movie?" He inquired with a cute smile. I mirrored his expression as I nodded, and it was then that I realized we were still holding hands.
"It was a lot nicer than I thought it would be." I elaborated, referring to our cuddling rather than the movie itself.
In a mutual agreement, we all decided to head to a little pizza shop in the mall's food court. Of course, they each insisted on paying, and that was the one thing I couldn't complain about. We ordered two large pizzas for all of us then sat and ate, discussing the movie as a group this time. Moments like these were nice nowadays; I didn't have to worry about feelings or choices. These were my boys, and we had fun together. I'd really hate to ruin anything with hurt feelings.
After finishing the pizza, we went out for ice cream.
"What flavor do you want, Y/N?" Gilinsky asked. Oh, here we go again. Him, Jack, and Sammy were thrown into a minor disagreement about what my favorite flavor was. Meanwhile, Nate went ahead and spoke to the cashier.
"I'll take a banana split, please." He picked three different ice cream flavors then looked back at me with a grin. Even being the quiet one in our group, he knew my taste. I never had a set ice cream flavor that I wanted. I liked to mix it up, usually in a banana split. When our order was ready, Nate took the bowl and led me to a table.
"You know me so well." I giggled as he stuck the spoon into one of the ice cream scoops and sat across from me.
"I was gettin' sick of these fools not paying attention to you." It was then that the choice became crystal clear. I've always been rather fond of Nate, but this had to be his golden moment.
"Thank you for not fussing over me." I said quietly, starting to eat my half of the treat. He just shrugged, licking his lips.
"I just know what to do. It's not hard to make a girl happy. They have yet to learn my ways." He retorted in a mysterious tone, and we laughed together.
When the day had finally come to an end, it became obvious that Nate was my choice. It also made me happy to see that the other boys accepted it without any hard feelings.
"You'll always be my boys." I assured them when we approached the car.
"We know. And you'll always be our girl." Johnson said.
"Yeah, we got your back, baby." Sammy added. I pulled them all in for a group hug before giving each of them a noogie, as hard as it was to effectively reach the top of their heads. They're giants! Waves of complaints were made about their hair, and I just rolled my eyes and pushed them towards the car, leaving Nate and I alone outside.
"So you finally decided." A smile grew on his lips as he locked his fingers behind my back.
"I suppose so." I vaguely answered, curling my arms around his neck.
"Does this mean I get to kiss you now?"
"You may, Mr. Maloley." I flashed a stupid grin right before tiptoeing to meet his lips in a kiss that sealed the deal.
