So i had this idea and decided to try it out. if you like it please vote and share it with others :)
I walked the halls of school, letting my mind roam freely. Gliding through the door, I took a seat in the middle of the room. This middle ground was unimportant and off the radar of others and I thanked my lucky stars for that. I wasn’t anti-social or a loner by any means, I got along fairly well with my peers, I just couldn’t relate to anyone in this hell-ridden school. I couldn’t find anyone who was as wealthy as I was, without being snobby, or someone as classy as I, without being a prude. It seemed I was destined to walk the lonely middle ground between extreme personalities for the rest of my life. I sighed dramatically to myself and settled in for another day trapped here.
“Alright class settle down, today we start on our group assignments based on the human body. Now just as a reminder any crude or vulgar jokes you feel the need to include in this assignment will qualify you for an instant fail. Do I make myself clear Mr. Bradford?” the teacher announced eyeing off a sulking Neanderthal in the back corner. “Good. Now on the board are your partners and if there are any questions come up and see me” she slumped into a seat and took out a book. I smothered the urge to roll my eyes and dug through my bag for a note.
“Sorry to interrupt Miss, but I can’t do group assignments” I said hiding my triumphant grin. Don’t take this the wrong way, but I hated slackers and I hated having to rely on others. Group assignments were exactly this, rolled into an inconvenient and un-deserving mark.
“Miss. Marelli you do realize that this note only gets you out of group assignments if possible. However part of the mark is based on how well you can interact with a human body. So no partner, no mark” she grinned maliciously at me.
I felt my mouth hitting the floor and waited a couple of seconds to make sure she was serious. I wasn’t a stuck up snob but that didn’t mean I didn’t get everything I wanted. Realizing that she was dead serious I closed my mouth and leveled her with a glare.
“Fine” I turned on my heel and grabbed up my bag stalking out of the room and taking the quickest glance at the board.
Eden Marelli = Charlie Blake
I sighed with relief; at least my partner was a girl and therefore would be easier to work with. Making my way to the parking lot, I got into the waiting BMW and let my Nanny drive me to lunch. I just didn’t feel comfortable having lunch with people I hardly knew and childishly conned my Nanny into taking me to lunch, instead of facing the problem.
“You will not believe what I am being forced into” I started, knowing my Nanny would listen better than any friend I could make at that school.

I started snickering into my hand as Sonny sulked. The teacher continued talking to the class about our upcoming group assignment and I prayed with all my might that my partner would be at least competent. I needed good grades and would prefer not to pick up the slack of another guy or some flustered girl. I leaned back in my chair patiently as others rushed to the board. No sense in joining the commotion I reasoned logically.
“So we have training this afternoon and then can we study at yours?” Sonny asked.
I looked at him surprised “You want to study with me? What happened to getting through life on your football talent?” I replied dubiously
“Pfft, I meant you study and I would eat and play some Xbox. I’m a good friend like that” He countered cheekily. I rolled my eyes and nodded. Unlike my best friend I wanted options other than football, or something to fall back on when I got to old to play. The bell sounded and I made my way over towards the board. The name opposite mine was slightly smudged but it appeared to be
Evan Marelli = Charlie Blake
I didn’t recognize the name but that might mean he was a nerd and our paths had never crossed. I hoped that was it and he wasn’t some druggie who never came to school.
“I’m partnered with Eliza” Sonny announced happily
“You realize having sex will not get you a pass right?” I questioned. He shrugged carelessly and I couldn’t help but laugh. I took a seat at the table and was instantly surrounded by a few people smiling at me. I smiled back shyly. I was always unnerved by the people who would do anything just to sit at the same table as me. It made no sense.
“Hey Charlie” Eliza purred beside me and I found myself fidgeting in my seat
“Hey” I mumbled back playing with the hem of my shirt. It was Sonny’s turn to snicker at me and I shot him a withering glare. Eliza giggled
“You just seem to be getting cuter and cuter” she proclaimed, running her hand over my arm, a little too familiar for my liking.
“I have to go find Evan and get started on my assignment” I mumbled, possibly the longest sentence in our history, to Eliza. She laughed loudly holding her stomach for support.
“Charlie, your partners name isn’t Evan” she scolded and paused to laugh some more. I sat back down and looked at her expectantly. A nervous knot forming in my stomach
“Alright, well then who is my partner?”
So excited for this! Please Vote and/or Comment :)
