Chapter 3

Abby had fallen asleep in Espo’s arms and Nolan is still asleep so we start getting to work on finding Bracken.

“Right, Espo you find out who he phoned while he was in prison and see who pops up and Ryan you check who came in to visit him while he was behind bars” i tell them while i carefully take Abby from Espo.

While they do some researching, Rick and i take them back into my office and i sit at my desk looking through his bank card activity to see if he has used it recently while Abby is sleeping on my lap. Rick is sitting on the couch in my office with a sleeping Nolan.

After an hour of watching his bank records, i give up. Carefully i place Abby in my arms and i walk towards the boy’s desks.

They look up as soon as they hear my heels.

“Hey have you found anything?” I ask.

“No i haven't found anything yet, from the looks of it no one phoned him and he didn't phone anyone else” Espo told me.

“Ok what about you Ryan, you got anything?” I ask him.

“Actually i might, i found the records of who visited him in prison and only 1 name showed up but he visited him twice a month from the looks of it” He said as he start to click things on his computer until a photo popped up.

“Ok, what’s his name” i ask Ryan as i scan the picture to see if i recognize this man.

“Andrew Deer, Lives uptown and worked for guess who” he said.

“Bracken” Espo and i said in Unison which surprised us.

“Ok bring him in” I tell them as i start to walk away.

“Yes Cap, oh wait Beckett. Why have you still got Abby in your arms. You do know that you are in a police station right so no one is gonna hurt her” Ryan said as i turned back around so i was facing them once again.

“I know, Rick has fallen asleep with Nolan and taken up the whole couch so there is nowhere for me to place her for now but when Rick wakes up i am going to get Alexis and Martha to take them home” i said.

“Ok” The boys said as i walked off.

When i got back to my office Rick was awake and so was Nolan. Rick had him laying on his lap and was tickling his tummy which was making him giggle.

I stood in the doorway watching them and it made me so happy seeing them playing together.

After a minute a two, they finally noticed that i was there and they look at me.

Nolan lifts his arms up so i place Abby on the little bit of sofa space there is and i pick him up.

“Did the boys find anything interesting?” Rick asks as he places Abby in his own arms.

“Yeah actually, Ryan found a guy who visited Bracken while he was in prison” i reply as i sit on the ground and grab some of Nolan's toys so that he can play.

“Cool who is it?” he asks as Abby starts to stir.

“His name is Andrew Deer and he worked for Bracken before he was arrested. They are bringing him in now” i answered.

“Ok good” he replies.

“I can't wait till we are finally safe”.
