The images of a knife plunging through my chest plagued my mind all night. I was barely able to sleep after the nightmare.  Morning came up on me quick. When I woke up Jett was no longer there. I could smell bacon and eggs coming in from the kitchen so I followed the scent and found Jett cooking. "Wow. Guys usually don't cook and if they do its usually burnt or undercooked." I said. "Ha ha very funny. I can actually cook quite well." He said. "Well I'll be the judge of that. Bacon and eggs are my favorite breakfast food." I sat at the table and poured some orange juice from the pitcher into a glass. I drank it down quickly and poured myself another glass. "Someone loves their oj. Here's some eggs and bacon." Jett set a plate down with a napkin and fork on the side. I picked up a piece of bacon and took a large bite from it. "Mmm this is delicious." I said with a mouthful of eggs. "Thank you. It's one of my favorite things to cook. Good things it's a Saturday so we don't have to deal with school. If those bullies come near you on Monday they'll have to deal with me first. I'm going out. The house will be free to roam so have fun. I'll see you later." Jett grabbed his house keys and wallet before walking out the door and closing it. I cleaned up the dishes and watched a little tv after he left. 20 minutes into watching tv a figure crashed through the window. My eyes flashed red and I stared in complete shock. When I snapped out of it, I ran up the stairs and to Jett's bedroom locking the door. With a shaky hand, I pulled out my phone and dialed Jett's number. A moment later he picked up. "Hey what do you need?" He said. "Jett." I said with a shaky voice. "Someone broke into the house. Get back now please." I said, the fear evident in my voice. "I'm on my way now. Stay where you are and if you have to defend yourself, do not use your powers. There's a gun in my room in between the mattresses of my bed. Use that. I'll be back in 5." The line went dead and I hurriedly grabbed the gun from between the mattresses. I hid in the closet and tried not to make noise. I heard footsteps approaching the door and I held my breath, gun at the ready. "Tessa. Where are you?" I heard Jett call out. I stepped out of the closet slowly and sat at the end of the bed trying to control my breathing. The door creaked open and there was a pause before footsteps rushed towards me. The gun was pulled from my hands and arms wrapped around my body lifting me up. I felt myself being set in someone's lap. "Tessa are you ok?" I heard Jett say. "I'm fine. Just a bit ruffed up right now." I said. For the rest of the day Jett didn't leave. He was afraid it would happen again. I grew tired as the day went on. Sooner than later I fell asleep in Jett's lap. Today was a tiring day. I'm glad it's over with.
