Chapter Three
PAST CALLING THE FUTURE
"Just where are we right now?" Niall was the first to talk.
"I have no idea." Harry replied.
"It looks like we're still in school." Louis said, as he observed.
"Yeah? At what age?" Liam said.
"We need to get out of here, we're drawing too much attention." Zayn suggested and they started to move towards the gate, hoping that the gate was still where it used to be.
They made a run for it and made it out. Even the outside of the school was not the same anymore, lesser structures than it used to.
"We're clearly in the same place...but why isn't it bloody the same?" Louis grumbles.
"So, where are we going now?" Zayn asked.
"Well, it doesn't look like Ms. Cheryl's gonna be back. It's best if we head home." Liam suggested.
"But...if it's different here, how can we be sure that our home are still our own?" Niall asked.
They all stopped. The question made sense, even if the rest of the world doesn't. If their school changed so much, there's a fat chance that it will not be the same with their homes. The thought started to scare them.
"Where are we exactly? Parallel universe?" Harry asked worriedly.
"Past." Louis said.
"What?"
"We could be in the past. Look at the school."
Everyone turned towards the school's direction.
"Isn't it what it looks like in some of the school's old photographs? The one by the hallway near the Principal's office."
"Now that you mention it." Harry said, inspecting the school even closer.
"So what, we traveled back in time ? That's mental." Liam chuckled nervously, clearly not wanting to accept the idea.
"Well, there's one way to find out." Louis said and approached one of the students.
"Uh, Hi." Louis said in his most disarming smile.
The girl stood shocked and stared at Louis for quite awhile. "Uhh, hello?" the girl answered with unblinking eye.
"I know I may sound like a total creep, but I saw you earlier and I can't help but notice how beautiful you are." he said, leaving the girl all breathless. "Do you mind giving me your number?" he asked.
The girl nodded and immediately handed Louis her phone. Louis noticed how old the model of the phone she had but didn't dare mentioned it. He opened it and quickly made his way to where he want to be. He opened the calendar and checked the date. October 1, 2000. Louis heart sank. He exited the calendar and started typing his number, calling his own phone, and gave the phone back to the girl.
"Say, October 1, is that today?" Louis asked her.
"Yeah it is." the girl answered, still starstruck.
"I see, well then I'll call you later, okay?" he said.
He turned around and was about to leave, even in a hurry to tell the lads the news when the girl speak up again.
