CHAPTER 11: The Oedipus Effect

Chapter Eleven

THE OEDIPUS EFFECT

     "I'm surprised to see you all up." Louis Walsh said, as he made a surprised visit in the house. The boys were already gathered in the living room and everything was in order thanks to Liam and his dedication to cleaning.

     "We have an...eventful morning." Shane said.

     "Right," their manager said, raising his brows. "That's good. At least I won't be dragging you away from your bed."

     Brian snorted, being the one getting dragged away ALL THE TIME.

     "Now let me give you a run-down of today's activity. I won't be there to accompany you today as I have some other stuff to attend to so I need you to pay close attention to me. We don't want getting behind schedule now, understood?"

     The boys nodded.

     "Good." Louis said. He went on an explained the plan for the day, which includes two guestings and album signing which will follow right after. The rest of the day will be given to them if they'll end up early, but the lads were quite sure that that's not gonna happen.

     Their manager left after explaining everything.

     "OKAY! Pick your lazy bums up and let's get to work!" Brian shouted.

     "Brian, you're the only one who's not ready yet. We're all ready to go." Shane said. "Go shower"

      "So the interview won't last that long." Shane assured them. There's ten minutes before the show starts and everyone already gathered backstage.

     "We're fine. We'll be watching from here." Liam answered.

     "Good luck." Harry added.

     "Thanks." Shane said, looking at Harry.

     "Okay!" Brian interrupted. "So Simon told us to teach you a thing or two, yeah? Now, grabbing the opportunity of being here, let me tell you the secret of how to be in an interview, in front of the camera, like a pro!"

     "Oh my God, here we go again!" Mark said, palms on his face as he shook his head. Brian was yapping non-stop about him teaching stuff to his apprentices on the way to the studio: stuff from crossing the street like a pro, hiding from fans like a pro (which they all proved ineffective considering he was the first one to get spotted in the mall), and drinking a coffee like a pro. Now this.

     "Somebody kill him and silence him forever!" Nicky yelled, all fed up.

     "Hey, hey, seriously...I have some epic tips; just let them hear me out..." Brian said chuckling.

     "Shut up and come with us! We're starting!" Shane said. "Someone help me drag him away before he corrupts everyone with his rotten mind!" Nicky and Kian both grabbed Brian's arm as they started dragging him to the stage.

     "Wait! Stop! Let me go! The guru is still talking to his students!" Brian said, struggling.

     "Shut up, you idiot!" his four bandmates said in unison.

     They all laughed at Brian as he kicked his way out of everyone grasps. The show's crew and audience were all startled as they saw Brian getting hauled by his four bandmates, but end up laughing anyway.
