*Toshio’s P.O.V*
I squealed as I happily danced around my home. Gaara was coming back and I couldn’t be happier! Even though it was only for such a short time, I couldn’t help but feel so lonely. I mean, I did take the time to hang out some more with Konohamaru, but it wasn’t enough to get my mind off of Gaara.
I wondered how he was doing? How was his manners, since I know he can be a bit on the rude side… Did he miss me too? Did he even want to come back home? Was he having fun? How did their concert go?
Gosh! So many questions! And, because Gaara’s the not so talkative type, I’ll only be able to ask a few. I better choose wisely.
I tidied up the house a bit. I wanted to make sure everything was in place and perfect. I mean, I realize that Gaara was just coming back from only two days away, but that felt like eternity, especially since I love him… Jeez! Way to ruin the doting little brother mood, inner feelings!
Well, now that I thought about it, no matter how you looked at my actions, they seemed to mimic a wife waiting for her husband to return from a long business trip…
My face went red at this realization. After a minute, I was able regain control and calm down.
I soon heard a knock, and I practically flew to the door. I looked through the peep-hole first and smiled as I saw Gaara. I then unlocked the door and said, “Welcome home!”
“I’m happy to be home,” said Gaara as he gave me a small smile. I then grabbed his bags as he came into the door. I went to set them in his room as he took off his shoes at the front door.
When I came back, Gaara was just staring at the door. I was curious of his thoughtful glance. It didn’t worry me too much because of it was how Gaara normally acted. But, it wasn’t what happened right after coming from visiting his siblings…
“Hey… G-Gaara-” I was interrupted as I was suddenly pulled into a hug. I was being hugged by Gaara? I mean, it was normal and all, but! I mean… It’s not a quick hug! Usually, we only hug for like five seconds! What should I do? Of course I’m gonna hug back! But! Why?! I was already happy about you coming back! I can’t take too much of this!
I hugged Gaara back, despite me freaking out in my head. He seemed like he would never let go, and a huge part of me was okay with that.
“Gaara?” I asked as I blushed.
“I, I missed you Toshio,” said Gaara as he sighed into my shoulder.
“I missed you too,” I said.
I was then pulled more into Gaara’s chest. “You’re wearing the panda pajamas?”
My eyes widened to the size of saucers. “I-I-I!”
Gaara chuckled and said, “You always look cute in them.”
My face was now steaming hot. I could practically feel the steam coming out of my ears.
“W-Want some lunch?” I asked as I tried to escape from Gaara’s grasp.
“Mm,” said Gaara as he pulled away from me.
After Gaara let go, I went over to the kitchen. I went to get the ingredients out of the fridge when I realized I had nothing left. Well, I had the rice, but I still needed the ingredients for the curry and liver for Gaara’s portion.
“Ah, looks like I have to go to the store,” I hummed as I closed the fridge door.
“I’ll come with,” said Gaara.
“But, you just got home,” I said. “You should rest.”
“I’m going,” said Gaara as he looked away from me with a slight blush. “Okay.”
I sighed and said, “Well, I’ll go get dressed real quick.”
Before I could make my way to my room, I heard Gaara mumble a small “Thank you.” I smiled as I left the kitchen.

I walked down the meat aisle with Gaara closely behind.
“Hope you’re looking at the liver as we pass by,” I said as I stopped at the prime of pork and beef.
“I already found the perfect one,” said Gaara as he pointed back down the aisle.
“Then go get it before someone else does,” I said as I stared at the meat presented to me. I wanted the best for this return meal. I wanted Gaara to feel at home with this meal, and to do that I would need something of a juicy caliber.
“Looking for anything in particular?” questioned someone behind me.
“Juicy,” was my one worded reply.
“Juicy, huh? Then, you’re looking in the wrong spot,” said the voice of a male. He then pulled some meat from the very bottom shelf and said, “This is what you should be looking for.”
My eyes sparkled as I looked at the meat. “Ah, thank you! Um…” I then looked up and my eyes widened as I saw Kiba grinning in his staff uniform. “Kiba?!” I exclaimed in shock.
“That’s mah name,” he chuckled as he continued with his wolf like grin.
“What? How? When? Why?!” I questioned.
“What? I work here. How? Interview. When? Like, three weeks ago. Why? I want to be able to buy stuff for myself. Independence, you know, that kind of thing,” responded Kiba as he scratched the back of his neck.
“I see,” I said. I then smiled. “Well, good luck with the new job, but I feel a little late you know. Why didn’t you tell me?”
Kiba blushed a little as he scratched the side of his face. “Actually, you’re the first person I’ve told so far, or more like, been accidentally found out by.”
“Why would you keep this a secret?” I asked.
“Well, working at a small grocery store is lame isn’t it,” responded Kiba. “It’s not like a life guard like Sasuke or a intern at a fire-station like Naruto… It’s… Well, lame compared to all of that.”
I shook my head. “No! It’s totally cool! I mean, you still get to manage your own money and you get to help people like you just helped me!”
Kiba blushed. “Man, you’re too cute, Toshio,” said Kiba as he covered his face and looked away. “But… Um… Why were you so into picking out meat?”
I then remembered Gaara and I were shopping together. Oh glob! Mistakes have been made! “Oh! Um… Well… You see…”
“I found the best one, Toshio,” said Gaara as he walked over. “It’s going to taste so amazing when it’s mixed in with rice.”
I sweatdropped as I turned around to see Gaara’s smile fade after looking up from the liver in his hand.
“Oh, Kiba,” said Gaara as he stared said make head on.
“If it isn’t Toshio’s big brother,” said Kiba as an irk mark appeared on his head. “Well, I’ll be going now.”
Kiba then turned around, not before giving me a small wave, and left to take care of other shoppers.
“I don’t like that guy,” said Gaara as he set his liver in the cart.
“You say that everytime you see him,” I said as I sighed.
Gaara glared at Kiba’s back as he talked with a female customer.
“At this rate, you’re going to develop wrinkles before you even reach your twenties,” I said as I shook my head.
We then went home to eat.
