Hermione's POV:
Draco nearly dragged her outside his muggle hotel room after getting dressed in yesterday's clothes. She offered to make him breakfast, that made him excited like a child. Draco was like his 18-year-old self again. And she hated to admit: She missed that side of him.
They took their time walking toward her home, far from the hotel. They stopped by a grocery store to purchase some grocery supplies.
He had a look of relief when they reached her flat.
"Make yourself at home. I'll just take a shower and get into some fresh clothes." Hermione called out as she headed to her room and undressed. She didn't worry that Draco would make a mess of her kitchen or flat. She heard from Pansy that he is the boss of his kitchen and all the muggle devices inside his home, the flat he shared with Astoria for so long.
She still couldn't believe Astoria would be mental enough to betray Draco for a Muggle guy.
She would ensure Draco enjoyed himself throughout their indefinite leave so that he could quickly move on about the whole break-up issue. He only deserved so much.
Just as I thought. Draco is already making himself cosy inside her flat, preparing everything he needs to make breakfast. His casual shirt, pants, and slightly dishevelled hair made her smile and feel happy as he moved around her kitchen.
"Wait a minute, I thought I was making breakfast?" She asked, amused. He looked over his shoulder and smiled gorgeously at her.
"Change of plans, sweet tea. I'm in a rather good mood today." He turned his back on her so he couldn't see her expression. She called him sweet tea. A nickname he invented as she puts too much sugar in her tea, making it more precious than usual.
"Guess you are generous today, ferret. I'll leave you to the task." She said with a stifled smile.
"You won't call me 'ferret' once I finish breakfast." He looked over his shoulder again and winked at her. She raised an eyebrow at him, and he chuckled. She felt it threw her back to their last year at Hogwarts like this was the 18-year-old Draco and not the 22-year-old Cannon's Quidditch Captain.
She likes the Draco she is with right now. His teasing, playful mood is rather sexy, she must admit. No witch in her right mind would leave and dump Draco Malfoy for some unknown muggle man. Astoria must have gone bonkers.
"Whatever the ferret says." She said teasingly and did some cleaning while her handsome guest cooked breakfast.
~~~••~~~
Draco was right; Hermione couldn't call him a ferret when she tasted his cooking. The guy had easily outdone her. He had been smiling in a teasing way since then. She could only roll her eyes at him.
After breakfast, he did nothing but ask about her stacks of CDs, especially the ones of the group Lighthouse Family. They played all their songs. She patiently taught him how to use her CD player. She laughed with him as he got it all wrong at first.
When he finally got it right, he asked her to dance to the mellow songs.
"You know dancing is not my forte." She complained, but he wouldn't hear it. He still pulled her close to him. She rested her head on his chest, hearing the fast beat of his heart, which contrasted with the song's rhythm.
"I think I'm a fairly good dancer, I can manage." He whispered with a laugh in his voice. She playfully hit him in the chest, and they chuckled in unison.
If she were true to herself, she has not felt content and happy for a long time.
"Drake?" She called him softly. She last used the nickname a long time ago.
"Yes, sweet tea?" He answered in a whisper loud enough for the two of them to hear.
"I'm glad."
He wrapped his arms tighter around her, enough to tell her he felt the same.
