Graduation was nearing for the Magus University as the students celebrate in the middle of the day, just right after they take up their final examinations. After four grueling years of grinding one's motivation, bending one's ideology and perhaps questioning one's existence, it finally ends for them as the endless possibilities will flood the students as they enter a world shared by both mages and the ordinary people.

Among the graduating batch is Laira Pauzart, one of the most highly esteemed students of the University. She was shown to be prodigious in many sorts as she was the only student to be able to break the highest grading record.

"Congratulations to my little sweet scholar!" He playfully said, catching her by surprise as he wrapped his hands around her waist.

"Oh! Just got up?"

"Yeah." He nodded, smiling, wanting to laugh.

He was still wearing his sleeveless undershirt, boxers and flip-flops as he went out from his dormitory outside the school to surprise Laira. The guards of the university called out to him to get out of the campus grounds for the bypassing and improper uniform.

"Sir, may I ask you to leave and come back with proper attire?" The guard said.

"Uhm, about the attire, we're actually going to film later on..."

"Sir, it's finals week, you're not fooling anyone."

He took a deep sigh; "Okay, okay." Submitting to the rules, he faced Laira who was already trying not to laugh at the situation. "Laira, meet me at Ace mall later on."

"Fine, just call me at my phone, Jeff."

"Sir, please." The guard interrupted them, escorting him to leave the campus grounds.

The brown shabby man was Jeffrey Euridas, her suitor, who appears to be quite cocky when it's about rules.

"Hmph. That idiot never changed. Filming for an excuse...as if that would be valid." She told herself as she walked the opposite direction where Jeffrey and the guard went.

She wanders through her thoughts, blissful deep inside, knowing that she would be able to finally help her hometown as she finally been able to finish the course.

She collided with a cold, frail old woman, blocking her way which was enough for her to stop; her face couldn't be identified as this was covered with a black cloth. No, her entire body was covered with black eerie cloth like one of those secluded nuns. Her heart began pounding as soon as she was able to see the figure's face, a bloody eyeless elder. Her hand reached for her, holding her tight, her grip, a winter spell.

"You...you have been chosen... save us!" Her chilling, shaking voice resounded through her ears. Fearing;

"Exponentia!" The air space around her became empty and with a quick second, a violent wind blew in front of her, pushing anyone or anything as the wind fractured the ground. Much to her surprise once more that she pushed away an ordinary student, injuring him.

"What's wrong with you?!" He yelled at her. There were people who stopped in surprise with the commotion.

"I'm...I'm sorry...I thought..."

"I thought what?! You couldn't control your powers?!"

The incident was worsening as the students and perhaps even mentors came to see what's going on. Fearing once again, she fled.

"Hey!!" The student who was accidentally caught up by the spell got up and was asked if he was okay.

She scrambled within the bathroom of her dormitory, trying to compose herself. Just thinking about it made her cry. The embarrassment and the judgment during that incident made her question...who was that old lady? Was it an illusion?

She showered, washing away the thoughts earlier. The soap, running down her light-toned supple skin. But she realized something. Something was odd about a mark on her left shoulder. A red circle with four lines sticking out and another four within suggesting uniformity.

She approaches the mirror to investigate. Her soul growled with despair, her heart twisting and eyes drawing tears, knowing what this meant. She knew too much of the world. The most controversial sign of false unity, the symbol of candidacy in the cruelest game the mages knew, the Shadow Genesis Games.
