"My power surpasses yours." Arnoldus crumpled his straight sleeves, as he folded his arms and winked an eye at us.
"Brother, I do hope you know in what position you stand." Amare couldn't dissolve his arrogance anymore and spat anything that entered her heart.
"Let's keep the chit-chat for later? Shall we? I do suppose you know why you are here." He straightened himself, "I presume I have logical siblings, right?"
I saw Amare trying to keep herself composed, and knew that attempting any attack was evidently futile. This day, is one of those days, me and Amare are to counter every twelve months. And definitely facing the person, who protected us with their life, was now a person we agonized the most. It yet, still, pricks my heart, to see that deep language written in his eyes, the language of power, the language of greed.
Arnoldus picked up pace as he went upstairs. My eyes following him. I took a second and glanced over Amare, and brought them back to Arnoldus, only to bring my sight back to Amare's eyes. They turned red, with grey sparkly tears that kept clouding her eyes.
"It's been eleven years since that day," her whispers trembled, "and it still creates, this particular heat in me, that . . . I CAN'T . . . . . describe!"
I stepped towards her, and she slowly placed her forehead on my shoulder, sucking the tears back in."It's fever." I popped without thinking. And at that, there was a punch on my chest from her.
Amare lifted her head, with a re-birth of vengeance and spite for Arnoldus. Which clearly spoke a defferent ray of Amare.
Arnoldus returned back, gently holding something with both his hands. It was covered with a golden - brown silky cloth, it seemed old. I walked over to Arnoldus, clenching my fist and creating a endless flow of hatred between us.
"If only you knew how greed has swallowed you, this box, wouldn't be in your hands, at this tick of the clock."
"We had a wordless interaction, last time. Keep it to that." Arnoldus lifted his eyes, his face still facing the box in his hands.
"I wouldn't jitter with those words." I ended the word exchange there.
Amare lifted the sheet from over the box still being held by Arnoldus, remembering the contents of what her mother held, at so time. Unlocking the box, lifting the precious thing out of it. She closed her eyes and extracted the pearl shiny light that emitted from the pores and sunk it all, in herself.
I covered the box, whose interior was made of a layer of diamonds, for protection. The precious 'Living Heart' which was golden, or, it was turned golden. Was a source of existence to the immortals, like us. Arnoldus took possession over The Golden Heart which still had life in it.
As Arnoldus went back upstairs. I took a stroll in my old home, feeling nostalgic. A memory snaked onto me, as I halted myself infront of beautiful glass cabinet. Which had Sapphire crystals on them.
"Sis, Remember?" I said pointing towards it.
"The diamond statues of our family. I remember it being more important to father than his own life." She responded with a slight smile.
"Yeah..." I smiled at the empty cabinet. "Where did Arnoldus keep them all?"
"You think he'd still keep them? Don't be so blur." She brought me back to reality. While Arnoldus creeped back into the nostalgic scene, there was a decent knock on the door, which followed, "Arian?" It sounded as the voice of a young girl, perhaps nineteen. I could sense Arnoldus hop with suprise & excitement. Amare and me looked at each other to the thought that who would call Arnoldus with his mortal name!?
Arnoldus passed by us, as so that we didn't exist. He fast - walked towards the door, as soon as the he flung the door open,he gave the girl a soft yet cuddled hug."You're here!" He exclaimed.
Sister couldn't help but giggle, at the plight of the girl thought Arnoldus was someone to be greeted. We weren't visible to the girl because we were in our spirit form. But, I do hope our bodies weren't considered dead, and the earth didn't start with the decaying.
"Elezaior, this was definitely a suprise!" he stated with his lips in a smile.
"I was starting to think that you were forgot about me, older brother." She sarcastically replied as she place her elbow on his shoulder.'From when did he make another sister!?' I couldn't help but think to myself. He sure loves making every girl his "Dear Sister". And yeah, he is that kind of a guy. I squeezed my palm on Amare's mouth, because she couldn't control her laughter. Though we aren't visible, if we make loud noises, I doubt we wouldn't he heard. And she is uncontrollable.
