Emma is left devastated when her older brother, Josh, passes away tragically. Since Emma's parents were ignorant toward her and her brother, she always looked up to Josh as a father figure.
Emma slowly falls into a dark depression. She stops talking to her friends and slowly, her life begins to fall apart. Her parents don't even care, making her even more broken.
Weeks after Josh's death, Emma begins to talk to Josh in her dreams. He lives in the afterlife now. She explains to him her problems, ad he listens to her rants every single night feeling terrible knowing he couldn't help her.
Then, Emma finds out that you are able take a person's place in the afterlife and give the dead person back their life. And that's what she does. She commits suicide while chanting the magical words that make her take Josh's place in the afterlife and give him back his life.
The afterlife. It isn't a pretty place. It's nothing like hell, but it certainly isn't like heaven. Though it's beautiful and covered with white clouds, it has evil factors. In the afterlife, there are many jobs needed to be performed. It is Emma's job to work with another person in the afterlife to plan out the life of an unborn baby.
Eric, the most arrogant and harsh person in the afterlife... paired with Emma to perform their job? This should be interesting..
