The Promise

(Hello everyone. I'm finally getting the next chapter to you. Just a reminder that I do not own Naruto or any of the characters. This story is my idea. Also the video above helped me get in the mood for this chapter. Please give it a listen, I also don't own the video. Now without further ado on with the story.)

(Sasuke's POV)

I look down at my baby boy. He's so small, so frail. I'm glad that you were named Shiro. You look more like me so you need some of your mother. 

"Sasuke are you alright?" I hear Neji ask from beside me. I look over at him with no expression.

"I don't know what to feel." I say simply. I turn and hold out Shiro for Neji to see. "Meet Shiro." I say looking down at the young boy sleeping. 

"He looks a lot like you." Neji says. "But he's got Hinata's paleness." He comments. 

"It's taking them a while. I want to know what's going on." I say looking back at the cave while I hold Shiro to my chest. 

"I can take him back to Konoha while you check on her." Neji offers. I stare at the pale eyed man. 

Can I trust Neji to get him back home safe and sound? Can I trust him with my child while that man is still out there? 

"Run fast." I say handing my child over to Neji. I look over at Itachi. "Go with him." I demand. Itachi just nods. They disappear in a flash.

I rush back in the dark wet cave. It's so quite it's killing me. 

I look to where Hinata is laying on the ground with Ino and Sakura working over her. They keep poking her with needles filled with strange liquid and other things.

"Is she going to be OK?" I ask. 

"Sasuke?" I hear a soft voice call out. I rush over to Hinata's side. She looks so pale. 

"Hinata I'm here." I say grabbing her hand. She looks over at me with sweat still sticking to her face.

"Where is Shiro?" She asks in an exhausted tone. 

"He's heading to the village with Neji and Itachi." I say wiping the sweat from her forehead. 

"So he's safe?" She asks with a soft smile on her pale pink lips. 

"Yes, he's safe and so are you." I say with happiness. I turn and look over at Sakura who is packing her bags. "She is going to be OK right?" I ask.

"She's going to be just fine. Shiro's chakra was very strong so it had weekend Hinata considerably more then a usual child birth would." Sakura explained. 

"Not to mention the drug was knocking her unconscious but we got most of it out. We'll get the rest out later." Ino chimes in. 

"Sasuke, she is still really week could you carry her back?" Sakura asks standing up and stretching.

I pick Hinata up into my arms. She nestles her head into my chest. 

"Well see you back at the village Hinata." Ino says while waving from the entrance of the cave. 

The girls both leave and I follow them. I walk out of the dark cave and a light breeze flows by. Hinata curls up more to me. 

"Your so strong Hinata" I say quietly to her.  

I jump to a branch and head back to Konoha. 

(Hinata's POV)

I'm so sore and tired. Sasuke is so warm. He smells so good too. I want to be forever wrapped in his warmth.
