There was a time when duty over self was the governing law I moved by. To serve, not to question. To obey, not to feel. But I was always too much of a free thinker to be truly one with that creed.
Those laws were just guidelines I claimed to follow under their sky, however brief it was. But I could not. Perhaps I never really knew what it meant to be of worth to the cause. No cause, but my own...
However, I love my realm. I love its people. I support free living in this ongoing pursuit of life. Elysium has been for as long as I've ever known it to be, the divine light that keeps all in balance. Without our leaders, every realm would be in endless turmoil. Armagevion, Terra, they would not be able to last without the hand of our rulers.
That is why I didn't turn down the invitation handed to me. Trusted by our world's leaders, it is I who'd been chosen to safeguard our realm.
But you know what I never foresaw? What the world through the eyes of another could look like. You can fathom. You can speculate. But not like this. There's a helpless frailty that will either wake you up inside or turn you out. It's a feeling you cannot ignore. It forever changes you, something I'm sure he experienced at some point...
Maybe it wasn't so much of a hard thing for me since I was just a lottery. I wasn't brought up my entire life for that one moment, just given a mission from the many others looking to do the same. But even if it was just chance, I feel my intervention was something that needed to happen. It was fated.
Sounds dramatic, doesn't it? Maybe even ridiculous. Then you may be what I once was. No. What I pretended to be. I acted. I tried. But for you, this may actually be who you really are. And if so, my story is something you need to know. I'll let you decide. I'll let you decide whether not my actions were just. For this was my enlightenment, as Titania of the distant skies...
Yeah, has a nice ring to it, huh? Man, wish I thought of it.
Chapter One: Titania of The Distant Skies
Walking down blue and white marble halls with darkened windows to the right, and doors to the left, two armored guardsmen walked with deadpan expressions from beneath their tinted red visors. Their red helmets had two ear-like points at the corners of their helmets, both with hair a little past the napes of their necks. One had off-white hair, and the other with brown hair.
Their armor was of red plating, except around the golden edgings of the suit. The gold was finely welded in the areas where human muscle indention occurs.
They marched on across the large, white tiled floor with a blue tile in the middle after every six. Side by side, almost robotically, they do not stray to observe their surroundings.
