Chapter Five

"start seeing someone else"

that was Emma's big idea to raise the attention of Noah and determine if he had feelings for me or not. The problem with that is, what if he really doesn't like me? All my time of gaining the courage to talk to someone else and spend my time with them could all be for nothing if it doesn't get a reaction out of Noah at all.

"I don't think that is a good idea" i said back to her unsurely.

"it will work, all you have to do is start talking to someone else and see how he reacts." Emma encouraged back.

"lets say i do that, but who do i talk to?" i question back to her.

"I know exactly the person, the new kid his name is Riley he is good looking and I'm sure he would make Noah get jealous easy."

I sat in my own world for a minute to think if this was a good plan or not, although it could work the huge chance that it won't scares me. I can't help but think about the fact that even if it doesn't work, i could still end up getting over my feelings from him because of the plan. Without to much thought i decided to go ahead with the plan. Emma and I continued with our movie night talking about random things and just overall having some much needed girl time.

I woke up the next morning slightly nervous, today is the day that i meet up with Noah to have a coffee and I don't doubt that he will ask why haven't been talking to him. I don't understand how other people do it, going through life with someone right there that you really like but watch them go off with other girls while your left nursing a broken heart.

the afternoon came around way to fast and before i knew it, I had to go and meet Noah at the cafe. As i walked through the door i could spot him a mile away. I picked up my pace and made my way to the table.

"Hey Ava, thank you for meeting me here" Noah blurted out just as i arrived at the table.

"hey, that's ok." i said back trying to make an effort

"I have already ordered, i got your favourite" Noah quickly replied before you could go and order.

I mumbled out a small "thank you" to try and keep myself from pretending that everything was ok.

I began to feel as though i didn't need to use the plan after all he is visibly upset that I haven't spoken to him and took the initiative to order for me. I was just about to make conversation when out of nowhere, Casey from school made her way over to the table.

"hey Noah, I just wanted to check that we were still on for dinner tonight?" Casey said directly to Noah giving you cold look as though you shouldn't be here with him.

"of course, can't wait" Noah said directly back to her, in that moment you knew that you clearly weren't enough if he was still seeing her after all this time. 

Just as Noah was about to say something with a look of sorrow on his face I quickly blurted out "I've been seeing someone" it was then that Noah stopped in his tracks from what he was about to say and just looked at you for a minute. It took him a minute to gain his composure before he just said "thats great, do i know them?" It was then that you said you weren't ready to say who but it was going great at the moment, giving him no time to tell you what he was going to say just moments before you blurted out about seeing someone.
